If the quality is good, I'll bite. I could use a fine looking Dancouga in the collection It'll be better than the OG. What makes you say so, Kuma? I know you’re a huge fan of the original so, if you’re thinking this one will be better, you’re assessment is noteworthy. I don’t know anything about this company. Do they produce nice stuff?

Fewture figures are regularly in the range of $400 a piece at pre-order, so, presuming the Diapolon robots are of the same quality as any of the Fewture Getter releases, expect to pay in the vicinity of $1,200 USD for the set.

Grendizer will be a stand alone DX release and his Spazer will be an accompanying stand alone DX release, I agree. I know we’ve seen schematics for the robot but haven’t we also seen schematics for the Spazer? I thought I recalled seeing them somewhere.

i found the OP for the anime

It’s a parody of Getter Robo G.

Get into it when you can, brother. Your photos tell a story better than most.

Kuma, you should do a photo shoot of the individual robots that make up the Daioja. The truly remarkable aspect of this toy (imho) is how awesome the individual robots worked out and how well Bandai captured those characters features while maintaining their ability to gattai - particularly Cobalter. I don’t know why, but I have developed a particular appreciation for the Japanese representation of the affable ‘fat guy’ in the group, from Boss Borot on up. Designer’s choice for vague blue color combo undisputed, this robot is an undeniable feat of engineering. Word.

Kick ass! Thanks for posting the Entertainment Earth listing! This is the second time EE has saved me regarding a Gundam pre-order. Just received my Metal Build Crossbones from them - no issues. I thought I missed that preorder until getting in on their listing when it seemed like all hope was lost. Ditto for Zaku. Good looking out fellas! Many thanks.

Yeah, I’ve got a really good feeling about this line. I was, unfortunately, on the fence regarding the Mazinger Zero and I waited longer than the pre-orders could hold out. I’ve kept an eye on the reviews and presume this line is intended to satisfy the nostalgic DX Chogokin enthusiast in that the robots are huge, heavy metal, and anime accurate to modern standards. I’m on the hook for the upcoming T-28 and totally looking forward to it. Again, I anticipate that this line will not provide optimal articulation of the extremities (wild poses) or gimmicks but I’m willing to bet they’ll feel awesome in your hands and look awesome in a display. Very excited.

Kuma’s observations are indeed accurate but, for me personally, the Goldion Hammer completes GGG. He has indeed become a statue on my shelf with hammer in place but, man, he do look good. I dunno, I think it’s worth getting the GX-69, IMHO.

I concur regarding everbody’s stated opinion above. That said, ET does provide us with a lot of unlikely offerings to fill our collections out - Mazinger enemies, Daibaron, Dai Apolon, to name a few. I presume they are are a small company doing limited product runs. Their work is way too expensive and, generally, composed of cheaper materials than any collector wants to handle BUT they do offer some amazing renditions of characters or toy models (panelized and deconstructable Chokinzoku) that Bandai proper has not yet offered. Buy ET products knowing that the materiel quality is sub par. However, if you want a decent, static representation of some rarely offered figures, by all means, buy them up. The sculpts are pretty good, in my experience.

Finally got one at EntertainmentEarth - thanks so much for posting the info! OMG - that was one of the most difficult pre-order quests I’ve ever been on.

How big is this T-28? It can’t be bigger than the Chokinzoku/Godaikin T-28,can it? The classic T-28 is, like, 15” tall. Holy hell if this one’s bigger than that...

Thanks guys! I typically order from Japanese distributors and haven’t ever really used Amazon to order anything robot related but, if you guys think they’re going to have the cross bones available, I’d be totally pleased to order from amy US distributor. I was so bummed to miss the sale but it sounds like there’s still hope. Much appreciated !

What US stores do you guys recommend? BBTS? Anything else? I thought I’d be able to get a good night’s sleep (after seeing that preorders in Japan came on line at 3:00am) and would subsequently order in the morning but, as you all likely know, no such luck. Man, that was a fast sale! Thanks!

I guess maybe I don’t understand but am I alone in disliking this robot? I really like the Getter Robo and Getter G series but I don’t know enough about the Getter extended universe to make this robot appealing. Is this a character the fans have been after? It’s totally cool if it is but, again, I’m a big super robot enthusiast and a Go Nagai fan but I just don’t like the look of this character and don’t understand its context in the greater scheme of things. Is this something you guys are excited about and, if so, why? Is there a series to identify it? Many thanks!

What happened with the GA-50? It looked like it sold at $1,500 and without any competitive bidding to speak of. Actually, it seemed like almost everything sold considerably lower than initial estimates would've indicated. Why? I'm so angry I didn't bid on the DX Daikumaryu. I was waiting to go guns blazing on the DX Daibaron which, unfortunately, appears to be one of the few items that crushed initial estimates, topping out at $3,250. Arrgh.

My experience is with regards to another HL-Pro figure (the limited edition GinGin and not Izenborg) but, I completely testify to what Gettershadow is saying regarding HL-Pro's first rate customer service. I had some difficulty with a broken ball joint connecting GinGin's head to his neck. I emailed HLPro to ask if they could help and received a a prompt response and very courteous apology for my difficulty. Most importantly, HL-Pro were kind enough to replace the entire top half of the figure. I'd only expected to receive a new head and neck which I'd then swap in with a screw driver but they actually sent me a practically whole new assembly. Their communication was awesome and they shipped my replacement without any argument and did so really quickly. I don't really hold them accountable for the figure's head breaking - sh;t happens, so to speak - but I am thrilled by their efforts to remedy the situation. A plus, HL-Pro and personal thanks Hitoshi.
