Hey guys. Out of curiousity, did ToyNToys provide anyone with tracking info? I received the PayPal request earlier this week and posted the cash immediately thereafter but have not gotten any confirmation or shipping info. Their website is pretty clunky and this pre-order process has been challenging thus far so I'm not holding my breath regarding first rate customer service here in the final moments of the game but I just wonder if I should be checking in with them again or if there is anyway to monitor my Black Getter's progress? Thanks.

Actually, 'The Buddha is not thought of as a god in Buddhism and is not prayed to. He is looked up to and respected as a great teacher, in the same way we respect Abraham Lincoln as a great president. He was a human being who found his perfection in Nirvana. Because of his Nirvana, the Buddha was perfectly moral, perfectly ethical, and ended his suffering.' If anyone were to appreciate his name being used relative to a teaching moment, it would most certainly be a humble Buddha.

If I may, I certainly don't think that Xiombarg (or any other moderator who may likely need to get involved at this point) means to express any Super Robot character favoritism or any disrespect to those who conduct themselves with civility on this forum. Quite the contrary, I think this intervention means to put the thread back on track and to steer this and future discussions back to a productive dialogue - not a needlessly destructive and combative one.
Anyhow, if anyone is able to track down a vendor who has the Extension Weapon Set available, please post the link. I'm not typically a huge fan the real robot aesthetic myself but (on a positive note), having spent more time reading this particular thread than I might have otherwise, the charm of the UCR 10/A is really growing on me - though I too think the addition of the Grind Blade really completes the design.

Not to rabble rouse, but Hetabattousai has a totally legitimate point regarding no mention of the elusive Voltron in the latest CDX webcast. CDX, for better or worse, has been the only legitimate connection between us (collectors who have parted with their payment in full) and an off puttingly silent Miracle Productions to date. I, too, find no credible mention of this project in the latest web cast to be disturbing. A picture is worth a thousand words (and would certainly generate more useful discussion in this thread were one offered). A distant excuse regarding production delays in pursuit of perfection (offered by third party hearsay, no less) is just that: words, speculation and rumors. I, for one, feel we deserve real evidence of where this project is allegedly at in it's 'extended' development, and soon. This is bad form on behalf of MP.

Agreed - but I think the price has a lot to do with it as well. This figure is unfortunately not cheap. It is an amazingly designed piece (truly a work of art) and, as such, carries a larger price tag than the previous MaxFactory releases. That coupled with the terrible $-Y exchange rate has really marginalized this piece, sadly. I don't actually know what it cost to make this guy but I can only imagine that MaxFactory will be lucky to break even if they sell the whole production run. I certainly don't think it's overpriced. Only time will tell if the supply lags and the figures drop in price like Dragonar did but, I have a funny feeling that these Big O figures were produced in such low numbers that the available stock might end up becoming very pricey in the next year. I recall MF Godannar (another relatively unpopular character when compared to Mazinger or the Getters, etc) was available for like $100 for the first year of its release. Now they're somewhere around 3 or 4 hundred on the after market. If the same principle applies to the Bigs, the prices could become truly prohibitive down the line. I could be wrong but I recommend getting him while you can as I really doubt there will be a second run.

Hey guys. So, after long consideration (and having been largely persuaded by Josh B's glowing review on CDX), I took the plunge and purchased Big O. Man, this is an awesome toy. I really can't say more than what his review has already stated but I, too, deeply recommend this figure. It is simply exquisite. Beautiful sculpt, detailing and paint. The size (and weight) is impressive as well - FYI. I actually also bought Big Duo and Big Fau. They're definitely just for show (all vinyl with very limited posability) but they look so awesome all together. Everyone should buy these figures if you have room to display them. Totally awesome.

Oh man - I totally love the design schematic. This might be the first SOC model I display in its component entities (individual robot parts). Awesome. So looking forward to this one.

Right on, and thanks for the info. I was so psyched to see their (BBTS) relatively low price point a couple of weeks ago that I placed my order immediately. Even the shipping charge was, like, $8 or something totally nuts when considering that a $50 shipping fee has become an unfortunate standard these days. I just hope they get their stock soon and start sending them out. Any thoughts as to when they might start shipping?

Hey all. Does anyone have any more information regarding the availability of Godsigma from BigBadToystore? I know they still have the product listed as being on pre-order for an expected arrival third quarter 2011, but I also know that the product has hit the streets most everywhere else. Does BBTS typically get their merchandise later than everyone else? Thanks and sorry if this question has already been asked/answered.

No worries. The only opening on the black portion of the wheel (effectively like a monster truck tire) is currently sealed by the orange interior rim. Think of the Black plastic tire like a pipe cap. There is a tight area between the body of the Daibuggy and the perforated (4 x 1/4" dia. holes, I think) orange wheel rim where one may be able to grip the rim from the inside face to provide additional resistance and then just yank on the black tire to remove it. To get the right leverage, I'm thinking this will require the involvement of a reluctant assistant (my poor wife or brother are likely candidates for this dubious honor). The back tires were much easier to remove. The metal (aluminum?) axle in that location is only capped at one end and acts like a pin holding the orange rims against the black plastic sleeve of the outer axle. In this location, you can pull the black outer tire caps off and the orange rim and aluminum axle pin slip right out of the plastic sleeve. Probably not the way the toy was meant to work but not causing any damage either. I'm not entirely sure but I think the front axles have an aluminum pin connection that is rivet capped and will not slip out of it's respective sleeve. Man, this mechanical description is getting confusing.

Thanks Ed. I think you're right regarding the application of some kind of vise grip. There are a few points of possible connection (the orange hubs are effectively perforated) but the angle I need to negotiate is a little tricky. Maybe a pair of needle nose pliers wrapped in gauze. I'll have to think about this a little bit. Regardless, thanks for the advice. I'll post some photos this weekend.

Hey guys. After a couple of years of searching (initially casually with building intensity) I am thrilled to say that I am the proud owner of the individually packaged Daikengo Buildplan machines in overwhelmingly minty fresh condition, no less. Needless to say, I'm really pleased and have been "white cotton gloves" cautious when handling them. That said, I find that I am unable to remove the black plastic tires from the orange plastic rims at the front end of the Daibuggy without applying a dangerous amount of force. From what i can gather, the outer wheel fits around the rim and stays in place with a tight friction connection - no locking mechanism. I've pulled on it with no success and do not feel comfortable working it any harder for fear of breaking the axle. I'm not sure if these toys were ever played with (prior to my involvement) and I fear the two peices having been joined togther in their styrofoam sarcophagus for well on 34 years now may be sort of fused together. Does anyone have any advice as to how to get these prices off? Much thanks.

Yeah man, best of luck with your sale! Your T28 looks to be in great shape - plus, you've got all the missiles! PM me if you're considering selling your Buildplan Daikengo (I've been looking for this guy for a while now).

Yes. Like many fine concepts: created by a committee. Not to discredit singular designers but, like in this case, lasting designs are seldom the work of one effort. Even GN had a select few with whom he consulted prior to marketing Mazinger.

That's a really good point, locidm. I'm a little worried that Bandai may be spreading itself thin by taking control of the 'affordable' figure market Revoltech had been dominating and High Dream were attempting to redefine, ultimately diverting energy it was spending on churning out SOC's. Regardless of the way Bandai's product lines develop as a result of this new figure division, I do feel badly for High Dream. They're niche market has indeed been instantly captured. I think Metaltech's best bet is to pump all of their R+D into developing figures of obscure characters Bandai is likely to overlook indefinitely - along the lines of their intended Giru Giru offering. I'd still love to buy anyone's version of Gin Gin.

Oh no. Now that I've seen the review I'm afraid I've got to get this set. I second HLpro's inquiry: is there anyone else offering this product for sale? I've seen a few Italian eBay listings but the markup is ridiculous - 500+ (and that's in Euros, no less). I could kill myself for missing the earlier opportunity.

Man, I really dislike Aquarion. It's cool that they were able to achieve a Getter-esque successful transformation but it was at the expense of the appearance of the robots and the ships, all of which look pretty bad IMO. Plus the transformation is a right pain in the ass. That said, I do love Gunbuster though.

I think the mini treads (that were the subject of so much controversy on this forum a couple of weeks back) are meant to be deployed as front landing gear in jet mode. I could be wrong but I thought I saw an image showing that configuration.

I can't recall exactly what their relationships are to the celestial entities but Zambot is related to the Moon and Daitarn is related to the Sun, I beleive.
