Hey guys. I don't post here very often but I am ever present - reading, researching, and keeping up to speed (I hope). That said, I'm a long time collector of both vintage and modern and totally interested in some of the more obscure robots ET is offering. I purchased the Gaiking and Daiku Maryu set ET offered initially and really disliked the line - plastic, flimsy, etc. I swore I'd steer clear of ET toys thereafter. I was on the fence for a long time after seeing the painted (formally issued) Kingdan X-10 and trying to restrain myself from giving ET another try but, after seeing the Belgas preorder, I freaked out and purchased/preordered them both from AE. Long story short, Kingdan arrived today and it is really awesome. It's got no die cast (no surprise) but it's really sturdy, fun to play with (evocative of the old Mego sets) and looks awesome next to the Mazinger SOCs. The scale is perfect (IMO) for display. It isn't painted, unfortunately, but made up of color infused plastic - so the finish is remarkably flat but my saying so is hardly a serious criticism. The figure looks awesome. I'm totally sold. Highly recommended to fans of SOC scale figures and rarely realized characters.

Thanks for your response. I too will definitely be waiting for video confirmation or otherwise before I force Grendy's head backward and destroy him. I haven't even tried to move his legs yet. Not sure if I will until the spazer comes out. I've basically just removed him from his box and stood him on my shelf. He does look awesome though. The pictures online can't do the figure justice unfortunately. The proportions are far more elegant in three dimensions.

I'm not sure if the figure is meant to do so but has anyone been able to move the neck joint far enough backward to accommodate the presumed spazer docked position - you know, the 'flying Superman' position? I also just received this guy (really another work of art from Fewture, IMHO) and it looks as if the neck is on an axle suspended between the shoulders that would allow the head to pivot backwards but the presumed joint is so tight that I don't want to force it. Can anyone confirm this?

Dude, it's not an eBay conspiracy or false inflation based on errors. It's simple supply and demand economics. Supply low - demand high among a group of passionate collectors. Significance (whether historical, nostalgic, aesthetic or otherwise) is in the eye of the beholder. If it's not your thing, don't worry about it. Not trying to be dismissive or jerky about it but, again, the economic principle is pretty straightforward.

Hey guys. Reviving this conversation a little late, but would it be possible to post pictures of the pieces (TF weapons or otherwise) that you had metal vac'd? I've got a couple of vintage toys I've been dying to restore and would very much appreciate seeing an example of the finished product. Thanks much.

Just received Getter Poseidon from Anime Export! Haven't had a chance to open the slip cased box but I did open the Fewture outer shipping box (says Getter G Poseidon etc. etc. just like Dragon and Liger's personalized protective packaging) and have confirmed that the Special Getter Double Tomahawk is nestled in its own little box between the styrofoam corner guards which hold the Poseidon slip case in place. Woo Hoo! I think the Tomahawk is typically included with Poseidon (I recall finding the Getter Machine Gun packaged in the same way with Getter Bear) unless an unscrupulous vendor specifically removes it for sale separately. Anyhow, way to go Anime Export! My first time using them and they've been totally awesome. Highly recommended.

Hey guys. Did anyone else pre-order Poseidon from Anime Export and, if so, what does your order status indicate at the 'Orders and Shipments' tab after you've logged into your account? I purchased the Getter G trio about a year ago when the pre-order was first posted and received Dragon and Liger (both of which are awesome, BTW) really quickly after they were initially released. Prior to receiving them, the order status indicated 'Pre-Order' or 'Coming Soon' or something like that but my Poseidon order currently says " Awaiting Stock. We are checking availability for this item. When restocked we will notify you by email. If unavailable we will refund you in full.", which is kind of disturbing. I'm not sure if Poseidon has actually started shipping anywhere yet but I gather it's close to hitting the street if it hasn't already. Anime Export may be using an inelegant description regarding the order status but it kind of sounds like they shipped everything they received and have run out. I don't mean to cause alarm to any folks who might also be eagerly awaiting the third arrangement of the Getter G team but I wonder if any Anime Export customers have either received Poseidon or if your pre-order status says something more soothing than the message I'm getting. Thanks. I get the same thing, since weeks ago before there were any news of Poseidon landing. So very likely its a placeholder description. I doubted they'll miss my order as I was one of the earliest preorders that they have (preordered on the first day or two when they have Getter Dragon preorders up and ordered as a set). However, would be nice if you send them an email to ask just to be sure. My email account is not compatible with their website somehow, I would have contact them otherwise. Would be great if you can ask and let us know what their reply is. Hey again, Mpchi. I followed up with Anime Export and received positive confirmation that the order is still on track. The following is their response to my inquiry: Dear ahoran77, first of all thanks a lot for your order. The Getter Poseidon will be released in Japan on February 6th or 7th, there is one more week to wait for it Thanks again Erika Nice to know how close we are to Poseidon - I'm personally looking forward to this guy the most out of the three. Hope this helps other anxious customers! Cheers!

Thanks man. I have renewed confidence knowing I'm not the only one getting that message. It seems like all is well - fingers crossed. I'll try to get in touch with them to confirm and will let you know what I hear. Thanks again.

That's actually a great idea. Sorry to compound the issue by posting here - the irony of doing so is not lost on me. Seriously though, it might really help to let members who are upset vent their frustrations and keep threads dedicated to subjects in which other members are interested stay pertinent. It might not work but it's worth a shot.

I dunno, man. Like a lot of folks here, I tend to stick to the serious side of the heroic super robot character archetype as a prerequisite when considering an addition to my collection but I think this guy looks pretty awesome. I also don't know anything about One Piece and I never found any of the previously released toys and statues relative to the franchise appealing at all but this model actually looks really cool. It's totally goofball but it's design is somehow transcendent in an Ippatsuman kind of way. I'd have never expected it but I'm kind of excited for this release. Love the gattai and the tank tread treatment.

That's a pretty cool and unexpected move on MF's part. We haven't seen a lot of Dougram love outside of the occasional Revoltech caliber figure. It's a bummer though that it looks like the Blockhead is getting the all plastic/polystyrene treatment. I'd love to have a version of that figure done to MF Gokin class standards.

I personally like Max Factory's gokin designs and think the title of this thread was poorly worded and is doing a great injustice and disservice to their efforts. I bought the MF Big O shortly after it was released (i got the all poly Big Fau and Duo as well) and I've never questioned its value in my collection. It's simply a work of art in my opinion. If I recall correctly, Josh B reviewed it very favorably and thoughtfully for CDX and aptly described Max Factory's design effort as a love letter to the Big O franchise - as evidenced by the painstaking attention to graphic detail taken to represent the character as a high end Gokin. It may not play like a toy but I dont think it was designed to satisfy that type of collector's needs. Size is awesome, Sculpt is awesome. It's got a satisfying heft. Pose it in your display, appreciate it occaisionally at a distance, and move on.

The Bullmark Daibaron DX is pretty elusive. I wish I'd been able to reclaim Ed's during the epic Morphy auction last year.

Can someone post a full transcript of the chat session with Dave? Please. Also, what's the bottom line after the conference call? When will the toy ship? If we still don't know, are we still able to cancel our orders?

CM's Tesukyojin had a completely diecast sword and Bandai's Battle Fever J had a number of partially diecast weapons - granted, the scale of these weapons and figures are smaller than Voltron is expected to be but the principle is not unprecedented. Anyhow, I do hope we get the metal sword as promised.
