Do you mean completely open? If so that's a lot of work to clean.
I am going for something different. I don't have a lot of floor space to work with and I like my stuff to be at eye or waist level so I can actually SEE it. I am really against floor cases unless the lower half is just the stand.
I would actually try to work with smaller cases that can sit side by side. Smaller cases are easier to manage and also to move and rearrange. They go right on countertops or dressers etc that can have storage below, or they can be wall mounted or built into a wall. I don't want to have to kneel or get on the floor to look at the very bottom of a case with my awesome stuff on display. Waist height and above is where most light hits the room, whether it's your case lights or the lights in the room themselves.
I bought my first case very recently, after years of just having things stored. I was sad and wanted to see my stuff for a change. I bought an aluminum and glass 24 inch wide by 18 inch high by 12 inch deep. It comes with three staggered shelves that are fixed height.
It gives me good options for both some small figures and vehicles but I could also buy another one, take out the shelves and use it for 12-18 inch chogokin robots all standing and fill it up pretty good.
So far it is the best thing ever. I am planning on buying two to three more when I have a few extra bucks.
Only the edges are aluminum. It's fully enclosed with no gaps or seams so no dust. The open design lets plenty of light in. I could add an external LED spotlight but I will never have to light the case itself.
If you must buy LEDs for yours, spend money for high quality ones. Cheaper ones will have color match issues (even if they are the same color) and can emit light in crazy non-uniform directions. It will look weird.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Aight...educate me: Aside from the SW in his name...what's different about this toy and the original MP I own...? Looks like it has purple rifles and is based on the later sculpt like the coronation starscream (remold body with no side pieces hanging off the hips).

David is a personal friend of my brother and I. He is a great guy and his art and figure designs (and quality) are top notch. He stands behind everything he sells and if you're looking for something new, I highly suggest you check out his 3d printed figures. They are awesome.

I agree but I think I know my market pretty well and this is a hobby for me. So while I would run it like a business, I won't be strapped to move stuff immediately or depend on it to live (I have a regular job and also my own business in addition to that). I'd just rather be able to locate, find and supply important things that people are looking for and have some fun while I do it. And lets not forget the fun of looking, and purchasing items for friends! Hell, I get as much enjoyment out of finding a Grail for someone else as I do when I get a decent item for myself. Yup! Tom is one of the guys I always keep a look out for things for and repairtechjon helped me big time this week with a very small part I desperately needed. Always help out the RJ fam!

Unless you didn't ship internationally to begin with, I guess all us foreigners are shafted... er. Actually I did for certain items, based on demand or a buyer's feedback (I did have restrictions in some cases) and obviously, I would ship to countries with reliable postal systems for known RJ members.

The falcon is new.
The x-wing wings do not separate. It is really big though.

I am so close to doing an online store with my brother, and starting to look at brick and mortar. Once I open up, you can all come visit. If I do brick do mortar it will only be temporary though, so most likely online. My inventory will be insane.

is it just me or when you found something you were looking up and down for it suddenly it's everywhere lol its an amazing piece worth getting Timing or money always screws with you in collecting. I just dropped major change on a nice piece of vintage and I had the money no problems, but the timing was sh*tty and I was just not feeling anything in general. Sucked it up and made the purchase and I know I will be happy.

Jon is the best. Have done several transactions both in person and through mail with him and everything is great. He has impeccable feedback here as well.

Ask Ed or myles. I don't remember if it came with accessories. Check the RJ gallery on the main website or the old morphy listings. Details should be there in either place.
I think it's 6" or less but never saw one in person and I think it's mostly plastic.
I chose to buy the metal Roboss dynarobo (vintage world's smallest chogokin figure ever) instead. Solid metal.

It doesn't come up that often. It's small. Not too expensive from what I remember. Back when I was really into Dynaman I was gong to buy one.
Ed (Admin) had one in his collection before it was sold at the auction.

If you just google PayPal 180 day or ebay 180 day they should come up but I'll see if I can find a few threads on other sites to link.

^ Wow. Hasbro just has no shame when it comes to those repaints, huh? LOL. There's a year of the goat/platinum laser optimus or something that looks just as bad. All of these platinum/year of the whatever animal toys are being manufactured for, and to meet market demand in, China. Seriously.

It was last reissued spring last year IIRC. Yup and it was surprising because nothing was changed. I was also surprised because it's always been "available", in general.

I wasn't sure if gold had done one. I really thought we had a thread here LoL, I mean we have one for almost every other one.
I actually almost bought the one on Collectiondx at one of the summits but passed on it. It is a big figure and really nice. Just like you, the thing limiting me from getting it is price.
Sounds like you are good to go though, so let us know how you make out. Good luck!
