If it makes anyone feel better, the 27000 yen price includes an 8% tax which we probably don't pay. The real price for us gaijin would be 24840 yen.

There's not much you can do with a ship other than display it.....or look like a complete idiot pretending to make it look like it's flying shooting down other ships I think it plays some music and flashes lights too. But so do my Christmas tree lights.

Release date of June. I wish it were cheaper, but I am 100% in.
The list on the Yamato GX-64 is ¥ 27,300

Down to 15,980 yen, a 41% price drop from Amazon Japan. I would bite at this price.
A couple of the reviews: A review said that the paint on the small fighters was misapplied/low quality, but the Yamato itself was good. Another said it was much better than the previous Yamato releases.

I was reading some of the posts over in the "crappiest SOC" thread about ebay prices and the Nanbara base. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell by serial numbers or store gossip how many of each SOC Bandai produces?
If the 30 biggest stores purchase 100 of each (3000) and then 100 stores purchase 5 of each (500) something like 3500 per production run? How about the Nanbara base? Are there something like 1000 (more? less?) of them out there?

i can't imagen this for SRC, however if someone where to made the mikene emprire now THIS is perfect for them. They go hand in hand actually droutmaster... the juxtaposition of ancient civilizations and modern technology like temple ruins and Super Robots is a constant staple in Super Robot anime...Godmars,Raideen,etc etc..and Im talking for the heroes, not just villains.Even the many bases of Super Robots are psuedo temples as such.. Pillars, statues, temples and nods to Egyptian,Greek and Roman architecture are shown in SR anime frequently....as well as in modern mythos.."Ancient Aliens"and early civilizations is a common theme today,UFOs over the pyramids posters come to mind as imagery related to this theme. .also as Magengar said Dr.Hell's island is full of stuff such as this. I have pillars in my collection already, they work great with SRs.Stands and dioramas like these work great with robots, wait and see..Im going to use a glossy poster of the galaxy or stars as the backdrop to this diorama. I never noticed that. Thank you for pointing that out.

I can definitely see how SOC collecting will be a wallet destroyer. Its not that bad. I think there is a good chance you can sell all your SOCs for around what you paid for them. So in a sense, its like parking your money for a little bit. Pretty much everyone sells around what they paid for the toy, there is no major decline in value as long as you don't damage the toy. At worst, you are eating some of the shipping cost. I would start with Danguard Ace.
