Anyone pick this up yet? I might buy this version this week. This thing has scored perfect scores everywhere I have seen a review for it. Only complaint seems to be the eye color and some people who ordered from ami ami are reporting blemishes.
Is this guy made in Japan or China?

Now your talkin... Cause all of us thinking about doing it: 1 to Display as VOLTRON 1 Mint in BOX 1 to Display as SPACE / AIR / LAND Teams (Maybe) $750... Don't tell the Girlfriend! The robot collection outperforms the 401k. A big finger to the overly friendly guy with the mustache that draws some graph with no evidence and tells you how much money you will be making and then takes a giant fee, tells you he is a professional, and then loses your money. In other news, I am starting the Gokin investment fund, where I classify gokin as investment grade metals (and I can prove it with evidence)-similar to gold and silver. So you will be able to use tax-free funds and your employee matching contribution to purchase your investment grade metal... Just kidding of course, but I may look into it and it would be great!

I just preordered mine. The price on this guy has been dropping the last month over in Japan. I'm not sure of the reason why. Its at 37% below retail (roughly $210 in Japan).
I remember this one when I was younger and it was a great toy. I hope this one turns out well.
Also this thing has a pretty big box W= 40 cm H= 60 cm D= 23 cm
its about 10 cm/4 inches longer (close with other dimensions) than a typical atx computer case.

I was poking around and it looks like the no.20 is priced at about 3000 yen more than the no.20A. Is there any reason for this (just release date)? It sounds like the 20A is a better version from this thread.

Hello, Can anyone give me some background on these BOSS figures? Are they a gift with BOSS coffee or something?

I don't know about that. If Bandai held foreign desires seriously, there would be so many Bandai releases of Voltron, Force Five, Diapolon, Jeeg, and other coveted Super Robot characters from the 70's and 80's that we would need to get second and third jobs just to keep up. I'm not talking just about the United States, I mean every other country besides Japan. I still think that Bandai's SOC and SRC lines are focused on the Japanese market, and the rest of the world's desires can go suck eggs. }D It probably costs more to get the legal protection for those toy lines than any profit they would make. So when they say they aren't concerned about sales outside of Japan, it really means you can't sue them outside of Japan. Maybe they should classify them as power tools.

That's actually a very good idea. If I only have the time and the expertise in retail and merchandising. Thanks! You are absolutely right, the big question is always where is the time going to come from? About the storage its actually sort of a big deal since if you live in a many cities the value of space in your house can be $200 per square foot. I am not an art collector but people have mentioned they do this with art purchased as an investment.

If you want to see what some of the conventions carry toy-wise, maybe try checking this blog: kaijukorner.blogspot.com/He attends some of these shows, and provides detailed photos. While his site has historically been geared towards vinyl kaiju, more recently he seems to be expanding and showing robot toys. Thank you Kingboy. That guy has a great blog with really neat pictures and he has the Google Tokyo Toy map I wanted to make. kaijukorner.blogspot.jp/2010/11/tokyo-toymap-to-stars.htmlI forgot about Super Festival, which is a little bit more like Frank and Sons but still amazing.

EDIT: I re-read your messages again, and it seems that HLPRO would design, manufacture the product, then it's up to the investor to distribute and sell these items. In this case then no, I'm not interested. Thanks anyway. On the plus side, you would be able to deduct almost everything toy-related from your taxes. Including your purchases and maybe the square footage of your house you put your toys and boxes in and defintely a storage unit. Conventions, buying trips to Japan...

For example, let's say someone here told me that investing $40K on HL Pro would guarantee me $250K+ in the next three years... that would raise my interest high enough for me }D Heh thats a heck of a return. I would be making Duke Fleed Helmets.

Hey Guys, I don't really buy "modern toys" but i have gotten a few things very different from the vintage robots I usually collect. Just wondering if someone can help me out with the following: Why is figuarts nobita nobi so expensive and why has he not been restocked/reissued? Was he a web exclusive? Doesn't seem so. I have the blue robot spirits doraemon on the way from HLJ (excited!!) and would like to get nobita, and zandacross at reasonable prices, but mainly nobita. I doubt I would cough up the $ for the new gold/yellow doraemon though. Have any more figuarts Perman series figures been released other than Perman #1? This was the first figuarts toy I purchased and I love it (his human sculpt reminds me of Astro Boy a little bit - you know 'cause he is all tezuka-ish). Also looking for copy robot. Does anyone have a link to a full list of all figuarts and robot spirits ever made? I am mainly interested in seeing what they made for all the vintage anime series, but would like to check out what others have been released from other licensed series. Nobitas are around 4500 yen. Are you trying to buy at 2300 yen or so? I think new farts are around 3600 yen. For the farts reference how about this wiki: www47.atwiki.jp/shfarts/rereleases are halfway down the page "再販予定" listings of all figures www20.atwiki.jp/shfiguarts/pages/13.html

Thank you for the great advice and taking the time to answer my lenghty questions. I will take each of your advice to great consideration and do more research on the areas/places you have recommended. Also, I agree with you that I think it will be a superb idea to go to one of the toy conventons there. Thanks again for being so kind to help. Fred, also make the trip to Kaikodo, 1 hour north of Tokyo www.kaikodo.net/reshope.html

Which of these have a big presence by Bandai for their chogokin lines? I'm not sure. Character Hobby Show? Doesn't Bandai have their own convention type deal and events at a showroom in Akihabara? I think Character Hobby Show is a safe bet but maybe someone can give more info.

I think bandai will probably make at least half of the cost than what they spent on producing the figure, or maybe more, otherwise they would not sell it. Bandai is not loosing money. In general its usually about 1/5 of retail to produce and another 1/5 of retail to insure, ship, distribute.
