Those pics look really good. its too bad that it won't receive die-cast treatment. I would have been completely sold on it. Here's hoping it'll be partly die-cast

Thanks Locidm. So it looks like CM's will release 2 versions. The Standard version ($85) will come with a "combined" Mekanda Max jet, Omega Missile and not disassemble (?). The DX version ($150) will have all the bells and whistles: -Disconnecting Mekanda -Disconnecting Mekanda Max Jet -The Mekanda Tri-Cars -Omega Missile I guess the Dx version is more complete but at double the price..? BTW the "M" in "MAS" doesn't stand for "Metal" it stands for "Mecha"or "Mechanical". Gold

Well, as far as I know, the tallest CM's PVC figure is the DANCOUGA NOVA at approximately 22cm: www.hlj.com/product/CMS65203I have a few of these CM's figures: Dancouga Nova, LODM Gaiking trio, the four Machine Blasters, and all the GaoGaiGars, and yes - they look pretty decent. However, their quality is really bad for such expensive figures. The joints break and/or give easily, the paint application is sort of messy, and they smell weird... ;D You can check most of them out here; www.hlj.com/hljlist2/?Maker1=CMS&MacroType=ActFig&GenreCode=Sci&Dis=2}D

It looks like the finished product when compared to the CM's Machine Blaster sets...
The DX Version doesn't look too bad - if it had a 5000 Yen price tag. But hey, at least it can transform!
I wish the CM's Dancouga Nova could transform too.

I can't wait for your ( Gold's) review of this one :-) Thanks John, I'm definitely grabbing this one. My first Mekanda Robo toy. ;D although, I'm going in with zero expectations toy-wise, since I'm fairly sure the CM's MAS quality control will let me regret getting it on some level.... Gold

BTW the "M" in "MAS" doesn't stand for "Metal" it stands for "Mecha"or "Mechanical". Gold Does this mean "no metal" for this Mekanda release? I was hoping for a GGGGv1.5 quality/metal content or better. Also, any word on height?

It is relatively more difficult to do a decent job painting a small figure. So based on the pictures we have so far, you can figure out that this will not be a big toy.

and the Voltes V GX-31V--- the white lines on the helmet--are pretty small--even the painting of Voltes V's mouth/beak--is high quality--no smeras...
the mekanda's paint job on the link I gave you...looks like--I painted it myself with my kindergarden paint brush :-) sloppy!! :-(

I do agree that it is a sloppy paint job.

I was hoping for a GGGGv1.5 quality/metal content or better. Also, any word on height? Uhh.. yes, that's right. No Metal, no diecast in this figure, since it's under the MAS line, which consists of PVC action figures (I think I already mentioned this several times over the past few pages ). Hence the 12,800 Yen price tag is hard to swallow. Mekanda will stand at 7" Gold

Granted I know pretty much nothing about Mekanda, but is it me or is the sword a little small for scale? Maybe it is that way in the anime. Then again, I also have issues with rediculously large swords like Godannar.

There's an ongoing pre-order of a Mechander Robo Miyazawa Version (Silver) at Angolz.
Haven't seen any images yet BUT as described in the said site, mekanda's white parts will be colored silver this time.
Also to be released on June '09
Oh my, talking about recolors (",)

Cm's just updated their site regarding Mekanda. Standard: www.cmscorp.jp/products/ma_mekander_std.htmlDeluxe: www.cmscorp.jp/products/ma_mekander_dx.htmlFar as I can tell, Mekanda can be disassembled in both versions (it looks the same, but i could be wrong), basically we're paying double the price for the Dx version just to have upsized versions of Mekanda 1-3 (which can combine into a big Mekanda Maxjet) and Mekanda Tricar 2 and 3 (no Tricar 1, strange).
