finally got him thanks to hlj. He looks great the design for mobility is good. I just wish it was made of more durable plastic. Feels flimsy but cool to look at.

i wish it wasn't as pricey.. i had the chance to hold my friend's mekanda... it was really light..although of course very anime correct sculpt...but seems too over priced for the $$ you are paying...

Hi mannix143,
Will you or a relative be going to Hong Kong soon? Mong Kok is where I got my Mekanda DX version. It cost me HK $800 (Peso 4,800). Around US $96.
I got it in 111 Argyle/Richmond Commercial Centre. Standard Mekanda (silver color) was going for HK $450 (Peso 2,700) - US $54
Pros - anime accurate Cons - fragile since it is injection plastic
Cheers,

I just want to comment on the fragility about it being injection plastic fragile. It is nowhere near Gundam plastic model fragile. It plays far better than that.
It is still more fragile than an SOC, that I'd agree with. But I've put it through more motions than any Gundam plamodel I have and the joints are still strong. I don't know if the joints will hold up after a couple of years. Many of the plastic model gundams I have got loose ball joints (particularly the early series MGs). I wouldn't pick any of them off the shelf without great care now.
But Mekanda? I'm willing to bet that it will still play well after 5 years. The only complaint I have are the feet connectors.

Hi bengus,
Thanks for your inputs on Mekanda's injection plastic. Good to know that they are better than the Gundam plamodel. Mekanda is my first super robot without any die cast metal parts, so I am more careful when handling it.

If you're okay with paying a lot (even on sale) for a pre-assembled model kit, which is basically what this is, then go for it. I got mine on sale, and even with all its flaws, I truly like this figure. It will hold perfectly fine in the hands of a collector... just don't lend it to anyone under 25. }D
