Well, with faith and wishful thinking (like we do for a revoltech Mazinger-Z) we'll see a Toei Mazinger-Z jumbo someday... ...or perhaps later on down the road, someone might customize their ShinMaz jumbo into a Toei-type. Ya never know.
The box art on this one looks cool, at least.
(off topic) Say... isn't Ishikawa the guy who arted the Shin Getters (Armageddon series)? Judging by the artwork in the ShinMaz series, it looks like his work alright.

I do like his drawing style, but I can't forgive him for altering the classic Mazinger (Toei) design the way he did. The story was cool, but there was no reason to change the Mazinger's looks... }\

Mine arrives on Monday! Very excited to get him! I don't mind the Shin version at all. Hopefully this will be the first in a line of many, so we may see the Toei version at some point.
The price.... is a little high. I'll have to wait till he's in-hand before I make the final judgment, but at the end of the day, I don't think I would have been comfortable letting this one pass.
Sure would be cool if they made a separate Jet Scrander for him at some point. That would certainly push this Jumbo over the top for me!

I have to agree with you there about the look. I enjoyed the shin Maz series... but it's still taking me a long time to get used to that "shin" look; I feel the same way about the Kaiser OAV Mazinger version as well. I would've enjoyed it better if the same modern cellshading/animation technology were applied to the Toei Mazinger version while keeping his classic physical appearance and armor build. I hope I don't ever get the urge to draw a Shin Maz... ...I'd rather draw the Toei version; it's more colorful. As for this new jumbo: the best things I like about it is the modern jumbo look, the detailed accuracy, the head sculpt, better articulation, no feet-wheels, and that Pilder. zozo-magengar (off topic) Say... isn't Ishikawa the guy who arted the Shin Getters (Armageddon series)? I really would enjoy owning a Shin Maz jumbo. But that recent pic brings back fond memories of the Mazinkaiser jumbo craze that took place a couple years ago... I DEFINITELY Gotta get my swerve on a Mazinkaiser jumbo! ;D And if I Ever Do get a kaiser jumbo, the first thing I'll do is fix the elbows so they don't look so darn lanky like the one shown here. LOL!
There have been old threads here in RJ on how to fix them elbows.
Now... back on topic... that Shin Maz is a Must-Have in my book. Sorry guys, I can't help my sensory overload every time I view this thread! ;D

My Shogun Warriors Great Mazinger looks animic standing next to this bad boy. I also know that people hate this new Mazinger design, but I really dig it. I see it as a fresh redisign of the old classic with lots of design ques taken from the OVA version.

I finally realized what's been throwing me off the look of Shin Mazinger, it's the silver on his nose. It reminds me of lifegaurds who put sunblock on their noses lol.

I stand by what I posted before... this jumbo Shin Mazinger is not worth the "$300 plus" it would cost most people to get it. $150... yeah. $300? NFW!!!

It will be close or even over $300 with the shipping. Amiami has the best deal right now (well, it is on Back Order), but it will still be around $260 even with the Half price EMS shipping. The box is huge and not very light, so estimate about $100 USD for shipping if you don't get the half price deal...

That's why I'd hopelessly wait until the price drops a bit on this specimen, if it EVER does drop... or when some cool deal springs up and i have the chance to snag him up. ;D

I remember getting my Gigabyte Mazinger Z for $149.99 from a local online store (USA). It initially sold for over $250... }D
