I won't be seeing it for almost a whole month from now - I pre-ordered the BD a while ago. BTW, in case anybody's wondering, Bandai shop seems to have fixed their problem with Canadian shipping. And in any case, the physical BD is expensive enough so I won't be renting it on PSN.

Just saw Episode 4.
I'm curious about the Byarlant Custom. The pilot was never revealed at the end of the episode, right? Unless there's some sort of announcement in the official site or japanese magz, I hope that the pilot is a cameo of one of the aces from the previous UC series like Camille Bidan, Judau Ashta, Kou Uraki, Shiro Amada, or even Christina MacKenzie!
Yonem Kirks' Zaku Sniper is pretty awesome too! I just love Zeonic Ace's Custom Mechs ;D

That was a wish of a lot of viewers, but unfortunately no. The Byarlant Custom pilot is a ex-Titan pilot/mechanic name Robin Diez. He showed up in some side Unicorn comics (possible published in Gundam Ace, but not sure).
Bad news for folks that have been collecting the US Blu-ray releases. Bandai Entertainment (US side) went under, therefore no longer releasing any future Unicorn Blu-ray after Ep. 4. Fortunately, we will still get the sub & dub in the Japanese release you can import for Ep 5 & 6. But it will cost you double, with slightly different packaging. People that bought the US DVD release however are kind of screwed...

Yeah, a little disappointed. I googled that info as well. Was kinda hoping that the film would stray just a little bit from the source material. But it seemed to be quite faithful until now.
Well, Ex-Titan is cool though ;D

Any idea of how many episodes are there. Im jealous of those who are getting the vids as they come. I'm gonna have to wait when its all collected in a box set. Too expensive for me to get the ball rollng buying per dvd.

Too expensive for me to get the ball rollng buying per dvd. Ther are going to be six eps total. The final ep should be out around Nov or so. If you have a PS3 or a 360 you can stream the eps. So far I only have the first BD with no official plans to buy the others right now. Also they have released DVDs of the previous eps for a cheaper alternative. Either way no one should be denied access to this awesome show.

The bad news however....episode 6 ain't til 2013!! Episode 7...who knows what this is....feature film perhaps? Anyways episode 5 is coming. Better enjoy it for a while, because it's gonna be a bit before we even get a trailer for 6. Announcement coverage here: www.gunjap.net/site/?p=64611New episode 5 song from the Boom Boom Satellites: Ah well. I guess we can still look for ep 5 VOD for the consoles here next weekend. Oh yeah....first 8 mins is up here...for those who just can't wait. www.gundam-unicorn.net/en/EDIT: here's those first 8 mins.

Gotta wonder if they're falling behind in production or something. Although, 2013 "spring could mean anything from late February all the way to early May. So who knows. It might not be a "whole year." Now I'm very curious what episode 7 will be - in the fall of 2013? Is it a going to be a movie event like the rumours are saying? Anyway, I already pre-ordered episode 5 on Amazon Japan, so I don't mind waiting a bit. If collecting this is going to be this expensive, the longer it stretches out, the less painful it will be when my credit card bill arrives.

Well, the day is here! Gundam Unicorn Ep 5 is up and alive on PSN and zune VOD. Great show! @ben - That's a good question. It's possible that sunrise is having some delay trouble. If so who could blame them. This shows animation quality has been superb thus far imho. It really sucks that the price points for the BDs are going for so much on AMZN. I've seen that Right Stuf is the way to go for these now since Bandai-ent bit the dust. But, to your point, the delay should help mitigate the damage to our wallets....ideally. zeomare - That's the current rumor - movie for ep 7; nothing confirmed by Sunrise/Bandai yet, but man it's going to be a helluva wait for ep 6. We shall see!!

Decided to watch this on My 360 via Zune. Is it me or was the animation somewhat off in this episode. The first couple of minutes in, I thought they switched over to some weak 2nd rate animation team or something. The animation wasn't constant but it did get a lot better as the episode progress. I can't wait to see the final episode, and if the plan 7th episode is a motion picture, I hope it isn't a recap motion picture where they just compress all 6 episodes into a 90 minute feature with a couple of added scenes. It would be best if the ending is the feature film and episode 7 is a stand alone episode that wraps up the series Now we wait for episode 6.

Finally saw episode 5 - pre-ordered from Amazon Japan. I got the sleeve and the little booklet insert. I'm only a bit disappointed that the spine is all-Japanese and won't match the other volumes that were released in the west. Oh well. I have mixed feelings about this episode. As usual for a UC story, it twists character dynamics in tragic ways... especially ensign Riddhe - who looks like he's about to turn to the Dark Side of the Force at the end (particularly when they close-up on the pendant he dropped which he was carrying ever since episode 1)... I mean, I was just starting to like him (he was so kick-ass in the previous episode). And then there's Banager who finally gets off his butt and decides what to do with his life. I hope we can get through the rest of this story without seeing Banager crying again.
