Wow I can't believe I sat through the whole 30 minutes of complaints. It's nice to hear that he did think its cool. To be honest I think his lions aren't bad at all as he hardly had any of the legs pop out during his constant posing. His main gripes seems to be on the pilots.
I do have to agree that it hasn't been a good experience dealing with Matty Collector and that I would avoid dealing with them in the future. I do feel his pain and frustrations with Matty as I have been through the same or worse. My involuntarily canceled subscription took about three months of numerous emails and phone calls totaling hours and hours of my time before reinstatement. It totally was the worst toy buying experience I have had by far.
At the end of the day I have my two feet Voltron and I am happy I have him. Like I have said before, hate the company, but love the toy.

Locidm, you spent the 30 minutes watching his whinning videos!?!  I read his review, and although he was kind of satisfied I could tell that he was too proud to accept its total awesomeness by b*tching about insignificant details. So I said "Meh" and decided to watch cachipower's Voltron finds at NYCC video. Besides, I do not need reviewers to tell what to buy or not. I only need the reviews to show me some aspects of the toy that the seller fails to mention, i.e. Toy with electronic gimmick, are the dreaded batteries included, etc, etc... |

To his surprise, the soup nazi (yeah, that soup nazi from Seinfield) answered his call and screamed at Atom by telling him "NO REPLACEMENT FOR YOU!!!" And hanged up. Yep, that was pretty much it. ;D |

I also got the feeling that he was hiding his feelings towards Voltron's total awesomeness! You hit it right on the nail. Instead he relayed it to his nephews about how totally mind blown they will be after seeing it. |

His job is to point out any flaws. He also points out the good too. I think you guys are emoting your own opinion on his reviews due to you not liking him. If Atom reviewed Matty Collector, I would agree with him 100%. As the website is a mess to navigate with broken links, and it is so convoluted that I think a 5 year old could have done a better job. Customer service sucks, and on a survey I state to Mattel that they should get rid of WindRiver and improve their website, and customer service because I am not planning to buy any future products from them. Now, the problem with Atom is that he is channeling his negative feelings from Matty Collector towards the Voltron. Which is not a good reviewer practice. Look at CollectionDX's reviews from JoshB, VF5SS and our very own chachipower, they also point the negatives but in an objective manner. Also, you keep writing that this product is riddle with quality issues. If that was the case then ALL OF US would be screaming about it. But it happens that some of us do not see the quality issues that Atom and others are screaming about. Therefore, the product is not riddle with quality issues as you state. But instead, there is a problem with certain factory shifts. Also you do not even own this product, so keep it quiet instead of emoting your opinion on it. And to finalize my post, here is a quote from HLJ when it comes to the products that they sell regardless of manufacturer: "Please note that the photos shown are of a prototype; the production version may vary. Also, items such as this are mass produced and as a result some inconsistencies in finish and painting may occur; these are not considered manufacturer's defects. If you absolutely must have perfection, prepare to do some touch-up work on your own." |

LOL. I am only basing my opinions off what I read here CFF and elsewhere. I have never hid that I do not own it nor that I missed the opportunity. There are visual things about it that I do not like but that is no different than you, TMZ, or anyone else posting about another figure that they do not like it or what they have problems with. I can give you countless examples of people doing that on this board. Can you say you have not posted about what you do not like about a figure without having owned it?
Have I ever actually said it was "riddled with quality issues"? I do not believe those words were ever typed. Maybe I did. There are 50 pages of posts on here and I have read a lot of them. I have noted lots of QC issues in those 50 pages by even the people on this board.
Please note I HAVE seen this figure, up close and personal, at SDCC. I did not like how it looked then and I do not like how it looks now. Stating that I do not like how his face looks does not seem to me to be an attack. Just an observation.
I laugh every time someone tells me to be quiet about something I do not own and yet makes a post about something they do not own on another thread. LOL. Shall I start telling you to quiet every time I see you do that? Let's not continue to go there shall we?
I had stopped posting about the subject but kept reading just because I was curious about how the whole thing turned out. I am simply commenting that the piling on is tiresome. It is akin to someone saying "Well, I do not agree with you so you are an idiot". Feel free to ignore my outside commentary and bash away.

Regarding how it looks, yeah I will give a comment in the lines like "do not like the proportions," "ugly face," and "interesting but will pass." Then again you seem to not take into consideration the positives from members of this board. Fair enough... Show me an instance were I stated that I do not own something and I attacked it. Like I said before, I may make a comment/observation about how it looks and not being interested. But never attacked it based on QA issues, specially described by other people. As a matter of fact, on the Riobot GL thread you did mention that you would rather buy 5 Riobot GL than the Mattel Lions. And I was the one who asked you to not go there because each toy has its merits. If the comments are getting tiresome, then do not add wood to the fire... In any case, I am done with you regarding this subject. |

Fair enough CFF. I think we agree on many things, just not this Voltron. Let's not continue the above because it will just keep going and going and going. We agree on far too many other things anyways. LOL
I am glad that the people that got it are happy. I will say what I said on another thread in that I think he looks great next to other Jumbo's. I have taken into account the positives that people have said on this forum.

It's a fun read on different people's opinions.  I'm glad that you are also seeing some positives out of it. The Riobot GL thread has been entertaining too. it wouldn't be a good forum if everybody just agrees with each other. |

How much is the complete Mattel Voltron selling for these days? Not Ebay asking price, actual sales I mean. Did the price go up or down? I remember some Ebayer selling one for $800 right of the bat the same day the Black Lion was released, so it makes me wonder... }D |

At the toy show last month, a booth listed the complete set priced at $550. One can haggle too, but it didn't draw that much attention.
