I was just talking to someone about this. Seems they had good results with it and it cut down the time to finish the design. They said they thinned it for high res models.

So, the shipping from smooth-on is almost $19 for the 24oz kit. I don't know... May have to wait for you guys to try it and give your recommendations on it. }D

Wow! Great find, brother! Man, I'd like to try that product to patch a large hole in the knuckle of my jumbo right Gaiking fist. And I could also use it to coat and seal styrofoam sculpted mock models so that I can cast rubber molds from them. Thaaaaanks! zozo-mag

So, the Grengus C3 is not finished yet, but today I started working on a 3D printed anime style God Mazinger figure. The kilt design is a major beetch! All those plates... good Lord! Gonna have to put a lot of work into this guy. }D

Okay, after thinking about it, I went in a different direction for the kilt. Here is the prototype: It is not articulated, but I think it will work out fine. }D

Software makes a huge difference! Just purchased Simplify3D a few days ago, and the results on the Da Vinci printer are awesome! Check this out: And that's just a test figure, with the worst print settings! Now we're cooking with gas!!! }D

Looks fearsome! The detail of sculpt possible looks very good. The engineering design also looks well done for posing plus stable balance. With the second forearm and its tail...

3D printing is something I've had my eyes on fir a fair bit. Too big for my pocket, unfortunately, so in the short term I might take a look at Shapeways or something of the sort.
And TMZ's piece of work there is lookin' good!

Thanks bro! It takes me a while to get the progress going. Source material for this particular character I want to make is very hard to find. As far as the printer, I'm using a regular Da Vinci 1.0. The reviews for the AIO I wanted were horrible, so I didn't get it. }D
