The reason I dont like them is not so much the anime or background story but the toys themselves. You cannot compare something like SOCs to Transformers, especially the really bad toylike quality of department store TFs.Seeing those huge garish collections of them its apparent right away. The quality of Transformers varies so much from good to horribly bad. The MP versions look nice, like Soundwave and the modern high end ones, but the department store transformers since the 90s are just awful. That is why I referred to teenagers, they do not look like adult collectibles, unless your collecting the more expensive nicer MP stuff or early G1 stuff.Put it this way a large collection of Gokins has tons more style and beauty than a pile of plastic transformers. And you wont find Gokins at your neighbors garage sale!

Oh I absolutely agree with you... Just poking fun... There is a charm to the department store TFs (old G1 items). But the MP versions are truly the best comparison to SOCs. And the Alternators line.

Kingdom2000toys, thank you so much! That thread was very informative and kinda scary! lol If Bandai were to ever produce an SOC Albegas, I really wonder how engineering would figure out how to make it proportional, when being displayed into any of the (6) combined robot modes. We've all seen most if not all SOC's look spectacular in being proportionate to how they looked in their respective anime. In Albegas anime, the mid torso unit was always the thinnest and smallest while the abdomen and chest units always were bigger/wider, no matter what mode. I wonder how Bandai would cleverly figure out the work around for pulling this aesthetic off on the SOC toy? Maybe some method of parts forming/swapping?

I guess it would be just like the Evolution Toys one. If you look at the picture, you can see that the sides of the robots torsos can be "pulled out" to make them wider. So the chest and hips sections of the combined Albegas would be pulled out, while the mid section/waist would not. }D

The reason why he cant be turned into the 3 robots is they dont include upper legs and hip parts like the old one has that folded into the legs. this is what it will look like if you try to make one out of ET version,LOL Below that the original matchbox version see the missing parts! is what is missing from top You will be able to make teh six arm Albegas though. why wouldn't they? Since these are magnets and like all their other toys, i am suspecting them to be extra parts to be swaping in and out. If would be quite useless and dumb to makes no sense if they could be transformed into 3 robots but yet cant's into indvidual ones. honestly, theer isnt much info at all at this point regarding to transformations. I think its best for us to remain calm and wait. I'm really hoping ET includes the extra necessary parts so that it can be transformed into the 3 separate robots. Their past releases have included a ton of accessories and parts, so I'm hoping they do it for this release. It might cost us more, but I'd be willing to shell out extra to get the 3 separate robot modes too.

I would be surprised if they don't. They do like to include tons of accessories with most their figures. }D

You know we are the prime target for all these companies. Not too young that we don't know any of these robots. Not too old that we have other financial duties. Perfect age to have disposable income to spend on Toys.

I have other financial duties! Im married, have a home etc..BUT I always get what I want by budgeting, selling, and not buying much other personal stuff for myself besides clothes etc.The start of my collection was funded with some of the money from seling my former WW2 German uniform collection.

The statement wasn't meant to offend... In general, most people are in the same boat at 39. At about 39 people are generally over the HOME hump and building towards Retirement / College funds, etc. I'm not independently wealthy and if I didn't FINANCIALLY plan properly, I wouldn't be able to take care of all the important things in my life - Wife, Family, Home. But the more difficult times are generally at 47+, when you still have the mortgage and preadolescent children ready to hit college... That's what I mean as OLDER than 39... (BTW, I mentioned this to you earlier about the stresses of HOME, WIFE, KIDS, etc. and the enjoyment of collecting quality toys.) I'm glad I'm not the only one that had to work hard and plan. I took 5 years to graduate College... cause half way through, I stopped to work and pay off student loans. My toy collection isn't as VAST as your robot collection, but I'm happy collecting what I like.
