Ditto. Still I prefer this MadToys rendition of Lion Voltron rather than the POS, recycled Toynami version.

I actually contacted Toynami a couple of days ago about the Egyptian pyramid guy but haven't heard anything back unfortunately.

Although I like the old Toynami version, I would just stick with those ( the plastic rendition, and the diecast rendition) and call it a day. This MadToys King Of Beasts figure looks promising in pictures... ...let's hope it jumps right out of the box as dynamic and imposing in person and in hand. Cos it has to be Kung-Fu like dat, yo! zozo-mag

True Dat! Just imagine if this were available at TRU or Kaybee Toys here in the U.S. it would probably sell out quick especially with hawkers grabbin them up to sell them as "rare collectable" items at flea-markets. zozo-mag

I am a huge voltton, golion, beast king lionbot, whatever you wanna call it fan, but this sculpt is the only one in my collection that I would sell. I have the 20th and every time I look at it I don't get it. The thing is blah and they've redone it three times now and I just don't get it. Let's reissue the original popy version in the Japanese box and not put in lighted eyes or a lame stand. Sorry For My Rant But I'm Still po'd that they are reselling this a third time taking advantage of their fan base. I don't know how they can feel good about taking advantage of us but it seems they don't care too much about what we want

So nobody got this? Or did all our rants pushed people away from posting their new Voltron?
While I'm not a big fan of this sculpt either, I'm still interested to see if any improvements were made. Please post if someone got this!

I'm holding strong and NOT ordering this. It kills me that they release the same toy as 10 years ago. I did see on voltron fb that the voltron store has 15% off for a few days. Not sure if the sale is due to slow sales or not.

Please post if someone got this! Improvements were made to some plastics and since Toynami has the license for a while, they plan to release more Voltron stuff. This is one of those things that will help fund what they have planned which by the way is cool. This also gives the people who missed out the first time and dont wanna spend $300 on it a chance to have an updated version. I would also love a new sculpt but Toynami cant just pull funds out of the air, something needs to fund it. Same as how if 1000 jumbos sell, he will make a jumbo vehicle version. If no one wants to buy any of Toynami's stuff thats fine but then we cant complain when they sit on the license either. I for one am down to see what they do with the license if its successful.

Interesting theory. If that's the case, I wondered what they used the funding from the previous releases of MP Voltrons and it's plastic versions for? Robotech cyclone? Or the crappy jumbos from few years back? While the cyclones were cool toys, do we know Toynami will use the funding towards Voltron? Or something else?
While I'm interested to see what they have in store, I'm not interested enough to pay $250 for a very old mold that wasn't my cup of tea to begin with just to have that possibility. My personal wish is they finally decide that Voltron isn't profitable and refuse to continue the license so bandai can finally have a crack at it. That being said, the new jumbo looks pretty good so far. However, all I need at this point is an anime accurate 12" diecast SOC quality combiner Voltron.
Toynami's track record just hasn't impressed me. In fact, the cyclones were the only toys I was impressed with, and they didn't even design it. They've had the Robotech license for awhile and on the Macross saga front they hardly did anything worthwhile.
If there is inside information that show a brighter future please share!

If WEP or Toyanami want the lic to be a success why not make things fans want. The fact is this 30th anniversary cost them very little since it was designs they already made 10 years ago. Granted its good for people who missed out but is a kick in the teeth of the die hard fans. Like most business, money doesn't come out of the air, someone has to take a risk or get investors. (Or deal with a company who's willing to absorb some of that risk....maybe bandi..) IMHO seems WEP went for the cheapest solution to get something to market as soon as possible.
I hope they do something good with the lic. but not holding my breath. The jumbo looks good, not my cup of tea, but I don't think it'll be a success either. Seems the jumbo collectors want vintage.

I'm hoping I can save up enough to get this. I don't have any of the toynami versions yet so I won't feel like it's a waste. I like the way it looks. It be nice to put him next to my Trendmasters version as I like the more Anime correct versions as well as the original styles. Unfortunately I'm trying to start my Chogokin collection and I'm really eyeing Trider G7 and Daltanious. Too many toys not enough money!
