Kinda surprised by this one. news.toyark.com/2013/07/17/sdcc-2013-voltron-wednesday-9262030th ANNIVERSARY VOLTRON There's a new light up eyes feature and display stand. I wonder if the toy will be diecast though. Kinda looks like it. Hoepfully this will see the light of day, Toynami's showed off that display base years ago and it never came out. Gold

Damnit. I need this, lol. I already have the 20th and 25th and am paying off the first version slowly from a guy. The stand is awesome. Can't wait to see this in person on Saturday.

Somehow I have a feeling this is just the plastic version. If so, it's a pass for me.

Yes this is from the SDCC. I'd say wait until we get an official release date and price before anyone starts selling off their first versions. Toynami can sometimes be wonky when it comes to actually rolling out the product (Voltron stand base in point). Hard to tell if it's plastic or has diecast, but I don't seem to recall the Plastic version having a shiny painted finish? And not just on the chrome. If it's the diecast version, I'm going to get one, just to pose one in lions mode (probably use my first version), and for the base. Gold

Toynami... oof.
After their poor quality with mosepeda I'm a little skeptical, but it looks ok.

Gold Hey Gold - Awesome pics I believe there were 2 for the 25th version - One was a metallic paint version. I'm told there was also a MATTE plastic version. I never got that, so I couldn't validate look and feel.

The stand looks good but the ad doesn't say that it's included, only the lion key accessory was mentioned.

Oh man! That looks like the display stand that was a pre-order for years and never came out!

I actually wouldn't mind if they decreased the die-cast content from the original MPC Voltron. It was a little too heavy, especially in the legs.

Mmmmhhh... Hope they will improve this model. Same thought here. Looks like they only dusted off the 20th & 25th and are pushing out new packaging. I love Voltron. I don't need another Toynami model to add to the shelf. I really hope they redesigned... Can't wait for the details.

If they don't make that base...man..that would be so easy to make. I think I will make a couple for mine.

I hate that a company can put out a "limited" numbered adult collectable, then reissue it. I def would like a new golion figure, just not the same one I have with a few small changes. I'm not a completist, but with golion I try. (- the vinyl). This pisses me off more then it excites. Hopefully more info on what's up with the license and what their plans are will turn me around.
I guess it's good for people that missed out but I don't think it's good for collectors in general. I do want the stand with the key.

Im kinda disappointed with this really, this feels like a money grabber than anything special for a anniversary. I mean, is the same figure but with add on lights and a stand with the key. I was expecting a entire new mold to look better proportionate. Im more interested for the stand than the figure itself, they could just take off the light feature since is a waste, only the black Lion has it and only can be seen when in his Voltron form. The lions themselves don't have the light feature so is pointless.
i guess Bandai will not be able to make Voltron or Golion, dammit....
