It's a nice piece, but I already own the all-plastic, non-chromed, non-flaked version -- my favorite version -- of this mold. I'm not buying this one.

Hey I know that the green lion has weird front leg angle issues but does anyone have a leg lion with loose rear legs? im talking about the ball joint coming out to theleg? My rear leg on the blue lion just flops around on the ball joint as if the legs werent tightened enough around the joint. I cant reach the screws to tighten it either. The store I bought it from is offering a replacement but they say its a known issue. Just wanna know if anyone has this issue.

I love your reviews man. I think I am going for one! But I do think it is overpriced 230$ for light up eyes and a stand?

Thanks ChogokinAbdul. Yeah, I guess if you have the original, this one is somewhat passable, especially in light of all the insane stuff coming in the next 3 months (SOC GGG, Maz, Voltes). I only got it so I can display MPC Voltron in combined and lion forms. I was actually considering grabbing a 20th Ed for such a reason before they announced the 30th ed rollout. Thanks Grendyrj. Gold

nice review gold you didnt put the good the bad the ugly lol mine look great but i hate to touch it. all the right side of it (your left) is awful the black lion leg wont attach to the blue lion easily i need to force it till i hear a click the red lion is a nightmare for some reason it cant hold up the sword like your unit it always fall and the articulation is way different than the green lion not in a good way the only reason i got it is i really believed them when they said they improved it I love your reviews man. I think I am going for one! But I do think it is overpriced 230$ for light up eyes and a stand? bro you can get it for $199 at Angolz here is the link for you www.angolz.com/store/voltron-30th-anniversary-collectors-set.htmlhope i helped you

Lol. Thanks. I didn't feel like doing a full on review since this is mostly a reissue. Oh, man, sad to hear about the joint problem with your unit. I didn't encounter the locking problems with the legs (then again, I didn't have that problem with the first release either). I guess Toynami QC is still hit or miss. Gold

Awesome review, great job as always, Gold! This Toynami Voltron is a nice figure, especially with the light-up eyes. Although I have my own personal reasons for not being interested in the Toynami line. I already have the previous two Toynami Voltrons (one is diecast, the other is plastic). One was given to me by a fellow RJer; and the other I bought from a thrift store. Each are missing parts; both came without their weapons accessories. Someday I will repro the parts with resin and make a full resin figure of the figure, from each Voltron figure's surviving parts. zozo-mag

Super great review Gold! I was thinking of grabbing 1, but I think I'll stay with 1 of the first versions I just bought and restored haha. If any of you need some 20th anniversary Toynami diecast Voltron parts I will be putting a part lot on eBay Thursday. I bought 4 Voltrons in a lot dirt cheap. I got 2 Toynami diecast ones, 1 metallic plastic Toynami version, and 1 Mattel Blazing Sword version. Each of the diecast ones had issues. The other Voltrons in this lot appear new. I then bought another 3rd diecast 1 dirt cheap from a local seller. From the first lot in seems the previous owner sold the 2 instead of doing the repair work to restore 1 of them to 100%. It was easy to restore as I only had to exchange one total Yellow Lion, and a leg off the Blue Lion, and place in a green lion to make 2 sets 100% complete. Now I am left with a set that is basically parted out. Here is the link to my page if your interested. The metallic paint plastic one I'm selling too as I already have 1 of these. Anyway, again great review. www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?item=311193542268&hash=item4874949e7c&pt=US_Action_Figures&_ssn=99infinity&_sop=1

Well, now I know why I got them cheap. I went through all 3 diecast ones, and found the legs on some were cracking or broken. I was able to restore 1 set to 100%, and another set to about 90% but I need a green lion. The rear legs are cracked. Has anyone found the red/green lions legs cracking or breaking at the swing joint? It almost appears the screws were put in to tight at the factory, leading to early breakage if its transformed more than a few times. I also wonder if the plastic versions have this issue? If anyone has similar issues on their Toynami Voltrons, and happens to have an extra green lion, please let me know. Did they fix this on the 30th or do the legs on the lions still seem tight? Also how did they fix the hip issue on the black lions? Does it appear that they re-enforced the hip ball joint to keep it from breaking due to the diecast leg weight?

Actually bro i have the 25th anniversary metallic plastic version and the 30th anniversary version , the plastic version is awesome when i first got it no complaines at all but i was cleaning the lot lately and found the blue and the yellow lions head stock in the voltron mode i need to gently force them to the lion mode so with time the figure is damaging it self lol the 30th anniversary version is awful honestly you cant handle it easy like the 25th and the lions legs are plastic so its hard to make them stand on their feet and the legs joint are insanely tight not in a good way if you are not careful you might break it and no they didn't fix any thing its the same as the 25th anniversary except LED, paint and the accessories but it could be just mine as gold said its a hit and miss because his unit can hold the blazing sword mine cant hold it

Super awesome alert to all that have even a 20th Anniversary one, besides the 30th. I called Toynami about my two 20th Anniversary Voltron Green Lions, and they stated the overall 30th is slightly different but the Green and Red Lions legs are the same as the 20th. So they are willing to sell me replacement Green or Red lions at $30 a piece. Super cool. So I am buying what I need to replace the parts on mine. Toynami also stated they can replace all the Lions as long as they are making this current Voltron. So basically this year and maybe the next year only is when you can get parts.

I didn't ask about the others, but here is the e-mail to message and ask: salesorders@toynami.com Man, thinking about his, if you had the 30th or any of these Masterpiece ones, maybe now would be the time to stock up on parts. I just may buy a few more red and green lions.

after some quality time with it i found that the blue and the black lions are the defected ones the blue lion right legs ratchet joints are not ratchet any more lol and they are a bit loose also the door on the back for the black lion leg, wont grab the leg unless i force it (i can live with that) the black lion right side (where you attach the red lion) i guess they didnt mold it right from the inside because when i switch the lions i end up with the same weird articulation man a $230 figure have the problems of $50 toys
