Part of the reason is the abundance of 3rd party combiners that was released the past couple of years. Hasbro is a little late to the party. Most collectors are gonna past on these. For official toys, it's a little too pricey for me to even consider. The current price of a deluxe at $15 and voyagers at $25-$30. Looking at close to $85-90 for one set. And the optional legend class toy like the Powerglide can also combine is interesting but that tacks on another $10. I already own a FP Superion and Menasor. So no reason to buy another. Good option for those that didn't buy the 3rd party stuff though.

I could see the lack of interest for 3rd party collectors. For me, I rather get a 3rd party figure if I can Other than the FP Superion, I still have not seen a good Superion. Not that there won't be one though. It is a lot more accessible spending $100 to get a gestalt over the now $400+ range they seem to be going these days.

Plenty of people talk about these combiners over at the TF only forums. Here though, not only is there a lack of interest in transformers, but also seem like the collectors here are more into the higher end stuff. while I most certainly will not buy a Menasor, Superion or Bruticus if they make Bruticus, I may consider a Defensor or a Computron. Like you said, $400+ for the 3rd party variations but both of those lesser combiners I don't care for so the $100 option is a good one to have. Honestly though, they need to start of this combiners War with the original combiner Devastator. That would have gotten more people to jump on board.

Supposedly that is the Surprise for next year. I have a feeling we will see Devastator at Comic Con. The rumor is he is classed as larger sort of figure, so it makes everyone wonder if her will manage to have the full 6 robots.

If they do make Devastator, I hope they follow the IDW comic and make Constructicon Prowl. I have a 3rd party Devastator already but would definitely get a new Devastator with Prowl as the core torso bot.

Since they are doing that story tribute as repaints and they already do a bunch of idw stuff I won't be surprised if we don't get that as well. I bet it will come as devAstator and we get prowl on his own

I'm really digging the Superion and I'm more surprised by the size of the combined mode. It towers over the old energon Bruticus mold. The engineering looks solid and if QC is solid I'm sold for Superion. Menasor on the other hand.....I may get some of the limb bots, but that Motormaster is kind of junk.

man i had my concern about TG Superion TBH but only because of the horrible job Hasbro did with FoC Bruticus. But after seen this pic alone.... MY GOD I SO WANT IT!!!, looking forward on getting this guy when available. if there is one thing i don't like on the figure it would be the hand/feet parts, if they didn't use the same mold and just had them separates and proportionate (proper hands and feet to each) it would have been the perfect Superion figure hands down no question about it. ... I never had a Superion since i was a kid (never found one) so this will make me very happy to have. While granted i could had bought the 3rd party ones, for me it was not the real deal. This will please me which means i must buy 2 sets, on for me and one for my nephew so he can enjoy it. btw there was a leak of a possible combiner to be release soon, accordingly this one is the protectobots team.

These have potential and are pretty good for mass retail. I'm sure there will be 3rd party stuff for this line.

got the first set except for prime and the legends, not sure ill get prime (kinda have mix feeling for it). So far Firefly, Alpha Bravo Dragstrip and Silverbolt(specially Silverbolt) they look amazing. My skydive is on its way, he was suppose to come with the rest of the gang but Amazon was a bit short on stock so had to wait for him a bit. Already form Superion and he looks very nice, the only thing i could say its bad is the hand and feet gimmick (the hands look to big and the feet to small) and the rubber antenna (had to dismantle the head to clean up a bit of the paint so they would stay straigh up). but other than that, not a bad looking. once i get skydive ill post more pics and the combine mode.

I am sure more 3rd party will come along besides PE to fix the hands and feet. I really want to get the Superion but I had seen there are plenty of repaints coming down the pipe and I sort of want to wait till I see other versions. Looks like we get an Ultra Magnus repaint of Prime, and A cyclonus repaint/retool of Silverbolt.

finally skydive arrived and its a pretty awesome figure and finally Superion is complete!!!!....well sort of XD also important news: Takara is making there recolor version of Superion to be more to the G1 as oppose the Hasbro version which is more to his updated look in the IDW comics. Takara for the looks of it will not have Alpha Bravo (which is a weird decision) but instead they are putting Slingshot. The mold there using for Slingshot is pretty much Firefly, but with some recoloring and a new head mold. for more pics you can see it here www.e-hobby.co.jp/smartphone/detail.html?id=000000002810This is not only the news, a Toys R Us computers provided by someone has CW Slingshot and CW Wildrider in there system, both of them at $16.99 so its possible that there gonna be available for the US as well. Do not that so far Takara has not announce there Stunticon set for Japan as of yet. Toys R Us Listings For Combiner Wars Slingshot And Wildrider

I only have a hand full of modern TF. I recently picked up Powerglide and happy I did. I like the scale and simplicity of the transformation, reminds me of MT/Gobots.
While I was curious about the 3rd party combines I passed. I'm really interested in Superion and hopefully dev?
Question. What combiners have they confirmed? Besides dev, any other speculation?

Forgive my lack of TF knowlage. The more I read about these combiner wars the more I like. The scramble city idea is great! It dose make a non modern TF collector like me have to make some decisions. I'm thinks my about getting the 5 jets and OP (maybe alpha) and maybe Devastator when he comes out. So much for not buying modern TF..
What's the main difference between Tamara and Hasbro release of superion, assuming I get the same jets and not Alpha? Is it just some different paint apps? I can't seem to find all 5 Hasbro for sale together on line(I know one still isn't released) and a haven't seen any in local stores. Thinking of pre ordering the set from ToySource and hope to find OP and alpha in stores. Is TF/ToySource my best deal online?
