Well SDCC has come and Hasbro has unveil there fan build creation Victorio, the first full team female members that makes a female combiner so how she stand? well she gain a back-clash thats for sure which reasons are some understandable and others are more like wtf. first the pics of the new combiner and its team components. Voyager class Pyra Magna (from voyager Hot Spot mold) and Legends motorcycle Rust Dust (from Legends Groove mold) Deluxe helicopter twins Stormclash and Skyburst (from deluxe Alpha Bravo mold) Deluxe race cars Jumpstream and Dustup (from deluxe Breakdown and deluxe Dead End mold) Combiner Victorion Now the issues at hand, some like the color schemes because is unified like some of the combiners (devastator for example), others don't like it because is to vibrant of a color like its missing a third one like white or silver to offset it or because her colors is unified and not separate like the other combiners (example Superion). Another issue is that the molds that where use from the voting everyone was hoping to see some extensive retooling on them, sadly this is not the case for the only retooling was new heads and hands (the 2 copter twins) and only 2 of the 6 had a chest change to make them look female sort of speak(legends groove didn't even receive any changes at all except for color pallet). All of the members are sporting male bodies with the intention to pass as females....."facepalm", there is an official artwork of this characters for the toy version showing them having proper female bodies, its incredible that Hasbro was unable to do this. But the biggest issue is that in the voting that occurred for the members vehicle forms, the fandom decided to vote twice for helicopter which it baffles me. No attempt by Hasbro to even change or retool the vehicles to look a bit different to look more cybertronian than earth vehicles because Victorion is born in Cybertron to begin with, sadly Hasbro has become quite a lazy ass for the looks of it and now it seems they want to end the CW line soon so they can move to Titan Wars line. Interesting this come with another issue that annoys the fandom even further but at sametime is a bless is that for Combiner Victorion they gave her actual hands and the feets have ankle tilt which is something all previews combiners are missing because they all use the weapon hand/feet combination which are not stable.(they should have done this from the get go). Im afraid that because of the back-clash, Victorion will be considered as THE worst combiner ever made first to Menasor and Ultra Prime molds. Another announcement is Scattershot, team member of the technobots that form Computron, Sadly there is some bad news to it. He is just a full recolor of the CW Silverbolt with only the head been chance with some jet retooling. There has been no changes at all to the Superion torso mode except for the colors sort of speak to match for the Computron torso mode....excuse me... i mean the Betatron torso mode. Yes you read it right, the combiner is now Betatron, the reason to this is that Hasbro has no plans on making the rest of the team and because of this they change the name as such. I will be honest, this is possibly the most bullsh*t move they have done, if they are not gonna make the technobots team members then might as well don't. Voyager Class Scattershot Betatron Torso mode This is not all o no, Hasbor decided to make G2 version colors of both Superion and Menasor. G2 Superion : Link to the team componentsG2 Menasor: Link to the team componentsA lot of people agrees that the SDCC panel reveal is possible the worst one in history while the Botcon panels was the better one which it had the announcement of CW Skylynx, Bruticus and even some info of the Titan Wars.

And these complaints come from the same people that were complaining about Exhaust as to why it had to pay homage to the old Diaclone Malboor decoed car. And then ended up complaining when Phillip-Morris forced retailers to stop selling this figure.
Look, Victorion is a fan build toy. Fans picked the colors, gender, etc. So if it did not turn out as expected, then do not buy it. It is just that simple.

I wish that Hasbro continued their extensive retooling method that has served them well.
Since Victorion is an all female team, they could've done some shaving off from the boxy shapes to make them more female silhouettes and not just head replacements.
This would've been a huge benefit for Betatron aka Computron and the potential Technobots team. They've demonstrated this on the Rook mold with the upcoming Brawl and Hound figures.
Hasbro designers, PLEASE wake up.

It is just that simple. indeed the fandom is the one to blame since there ones who voted for this, however is not without saying that Hasbro is abusing the molds to much and just recoloring is the option. I like the concept but i want to see more retooling to make it more different than the other combiners overall. The big issue i have with this is that Victorion is cybertronian from the get go and the vehicles are not but earth base vehicles. I wish that Hasbro continued their extensive retooling method that has served them well. However there was an official artwork of them showing how they would look with more female proportins gonna see if i can find it. -edit here it is they look so much better than the end result.

Just came home from SDCC. Here's what I got. *pics* congrats on getting him OzmaLee, hows the plastic quality build feels as well when his fully combine? i still think that the chrome is bad on him, however if the entire thing had more metal finish looking it might go really good with it. btw a video of the transformers panel showing the new combiner Victorion and explaining the process. accordingly they wanted to make it more like strongarm from the new RID series than justa female looking transformer.

Thanks! Let me put it this way, this made me feel the way I did when I first assembled my G1 Devastator back in the 80's. I know there's no diecast but this thing still is pretty heavy. I love how all the bots are faithful to their G1 counterparts down to the head sculpts. Not to keen about the vac formed metal and I know this may be a problem especially with scratching but it does look pretty good. I'd prefer just plain purple though. I'd recommend waiting for the Takara Tomy version if you can but if not, Hasbro's comes out next month.

Re Victorion. They claim that is what they want, but I think that is just what the claimed because what they wanted was to simply repaint to save funds. I like it in the gestalt mode. I think it could use a little detail paint to break some things up, but I don't hate it. I am not a fan of the individual modes as much, and the vehicles modes just look bland due to the over saturation of color and lack of detail paint. If I see a good deal on it, I will pick it up. I had not bought hotspot yet because I wanted to see how this looked, but I prefer the hotspot version of the mold. I think this all started strong, but the over use of repaints makes me less interested in completing any other bots, but just buying to versions of the limbs I like for the sake of making new combiners. I do think helicopters as feet looks better on the Defensor mold instead of the oversized legs from many of the car/ truck bots. I hope they don't get too lazy and keep repainting. Especially for some of the other iconic combiners. EDIT: I was able to fit the limbs in tidal wave. His ports are larger, but you can space it. So that might mean similar toy lines might accept the limbs as well.

^ Well, Chen...one is 3 times the price of the other. So, if money is no object, I'd get the Gravity Builder. Looks better.

Yeah one is cheap, available, and BIG while the other one is expensive, who knows when it will come out, and less big lol. I just don't know if I wanna invest over a year to get the Gravity set cause I'm pretty sure there will be delays.

Yeah, it's a small dilemma...I think the detailing on the GT-1 looks better but obviously, the CW version is official and alot cheaper. Albeit, if you get the TakaraTomy version, well, with shipping, it climbs up a few bucks. I'm just trying to advert my eyes and keep muttering to myself that I need to save up because Pandinus and a glut of MP-scale Autobot Cars are incoming...I seriously need a 2nd job just to keep up with this insane hobby now.

Not sure which one to get............ If money is an issue or not then go for the Takara version because of the improvements that it has over the Hasbro one and not to mention its still cheaper and much bigger than the 3rd Party one which makes it even better for the deluxes or MP line which works nice either way. And if you count the upgrade set for the CW/UW version then it still remains cheaper than the Gravity Builder. The only issues i see with the Gravity Builder is, price, time of release, size not beem more proper for the MP line and is not G1 accurate.

I just don't know if I wanna invest over a year to get the Gravity set cause I'm pretty sure there will be delays. I say go with the official one. One thing I've noticed is that 3P stuff doesn't hold value anymore. They may go up in price initially but the value doesn't hold. Figures that gets high demands either gets KO by another factory or they get reissued. As for Devastator, I can't recommend TFC Hercules. Hercules has already been KO and can be had for less than the official CW one. Market is flooded and over stock of them too. It'll never appreciate in value cause they can be remade and are plentiful. It's likely to go on clearance one day. The new Devastator from Gravity look nice but is a long way from being made plus it's a new 3P company and we don't know the quality. These $500+ 3P combiners, the lower quality ones aren't worth investing in. I stay away from TFC, just don't like that company at all. UT is another company that I just don't like. And Warbotron quality reminds me a lot of TFC. Plastic that has stress marks, QC issue where parts are assembled wrong. Spell check, they still spell sergeant wrong. Just learned that wukong is making KO version of Warbotron Bruticus at a fraction of the price. I think they got rid of the comic and card and all those unnecessary crap. My buddy sold his FT Quakewave a couple months back. Right around the time that XTB Apollyon came out. I told him to do it cause there was a higher demand for Quakewave cause people wanted to have MP Shockwave and Megatron together. He got $600 for it. And now he gets to buy that FT Quakewave back for the same price that I got it for him back when they first release it at $150. These opportunity to make money like this don't last. He learned from the time he over spent on FP Bruticus and City Commander. He got those at the height of its popularity and lost a lot of money, just like the Classics/Henkei line figures. He once spent $80 on a Classics CliffJumper for Crying out Loud. I scold at him on that one for being a noob at the time. Most times, I could care less what people do with their money but this was a close friend and I just didn't like that he got ripped off. But it wasn't the seller fault. My friends dumb obsession of collecting all of the classic line figure without the use of patients. It's his problem and he see's his mistake now. After all the stuff he overpaid for and now he can't even recover the money lost.

I noticed the 3d party aftermarket going down too. Seems they are producing just enough, and readily available. So the only way yo sell it is to sell it cheaper. Plus with the over saturation of the market, and Hasbro catching up with their MP and CW lines, we might see a 3rd party crash. I think some of the older rare stuff might still pull decent money, but they keep reissuing stuff. Early FP stuff still likely held its value best.
