Well, if it is going to look like this, I'm getting it. Another non-anime accurate Voltron/Golion, but it still looks really good anyway. Any idea of how much is this guy gonna set me back?

Looking good from here. I hope the lions have outward motion on their legs. If I recall this guy is 18 inches when combined? This could be great with Takara's Unite Warriors Devastator!

I'm not really digging those Lions. Especially the Black. The Voltron robot looks good. But I think I will want to read some reviews first. Those rear legs on the Black Lion are making me worry about how the legs attach.

It is, after all, a Toynami product.

it looks kinda good but the lions gives me the feeling of a toy that came with a happy meal
the proportion are very weird not in a good way its like the lions are starving, and cant they think of other accessories other the the sword and the shield ? Golion had ton of weapons
in my opinion the only thing this version have better than the MT KOB is its size and huge toys not always the best
lets see how much it will cost this time

Colored images from the SDCC Images courtesy of the Toysdaily forums. gold Definitely looks better and a bit faithful to the anime than KOB... and without the steroid arms hehehe.. Bad thing though.. it doesnt have the heavy diecast like KOB.

Bad thing though.. it doesnt have the heavy diecast like KOB. i dont see any similarity between this one and the anime specially the black lion check this photo i wont post it as a pic because its huge you can check more photos in Gold links above news.toyark.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2015/07/SDCC2015-Toynami-Voltron-036.jpgeven with the puff look of the lions in the MT KOB its still closer to the anime than this, unless if you were talk to the new voltron show where the lions looks like kittens

It is, after all, a Toynami product. This is true. Toynami's plastic's and I do not often get along. I have no issues with my Die Cast Voltron, but I have bounced their Valkyrie's off walls in anger and frustration.

Once again, this one, NOR any other Voltron/Golion figures, with the exception of the Mattel Blazing Sword Voltron, are even close to being ANIME accurate. So folks, please let that bird go... So far, this representation looks really good, especially the lions. No more No-Neck/Quasi-SD lions to have a good looking combined Voltron. }D

Bad thing though.. it doesnt have the heavy diecast like KOB. I have to admit this Voltron looks way better than what Mattel did with that fiasco of a big voltron that looks horrible in all regards (but blazing sword voltron action figure is the only thing Mattel did right which is ironic). Heck is even better looking than the Voltron Force show version toy that Mattel never released or the KoB version, this shows you that you don't need to force a heavy stylize Voltron or force someone the original as the law of laws. All you need to do is take the original and refine it a bit to make it modern and eye catching but still remain true to the source, and that way you get a well good representation of a modern Voltron throwing the nostalgia look as an icing on the cake. This Voltron even gives all the Lions well proportionate bodies with true feline look including there heads been well more proportionate which is something that no company has done right to this day. I wouldn't be surprise that if this sells really well perhaps Toynami decides to make the classic Voltron later on (better looking than the Anniversary diecast version of Voltron). HOWEVER!!! there is no question about that we can all agree that this modern Toynami version of Voltron is leaps and bounds FAR BETTER than THAT horrible movie version that was planed some time ago. "shivers"

I do kind of wish the green on Green Lion wasn't so bright. It should be darker like in TMZ's pic.

I actually really like my Mattel Voltron (the 23" one). Sure it has drawbacks but I think it looks great. It just photographs horribly because of its size and because most people don't pose him well. Burn me for it but I prefer that one over the toynami masterpiece one by a large margin.

No taking sides or whatsoever.

Burn me for it but I prefer that one over the toynami masterpiece one by a large margin. I totally agree with you. The Mattel 24" Voltron is great! You know, most of the people that always complain and whine about it, have never even had it. They just complain for the sake of complaining. Again, if someone can not put a figure through the motions by themselves (like Charles does), and not just for a few minutes at a buddys house, they should not be complaining or praising it, period. When they do, it just screams total BS. }D
