Some of us do care about the legality and authenticity of what we collect. This board serves as a source for us, so we can informed purchases. So this topic certainly belongs here for all to see. It doesn't matter to me if someone buys a bootleg or a KO or whatever, but they should have access to the truth about a product. We all spend a good amount of money on this stuff and deserve to know. They "a lot of us don't care if it's unlicensed" is, imo, extremely biased and undermines those who do want to know the legality of what they're purchasing and the risks that come with it. And like what was said earlier in this thread, people don't like being lied to. There are people and merchants who don't appreciate being told a lie that was time and time again disputed.

I’m pretty satisfied with my collection so far. I’ve picked up every available combinable Voltron that has come out the last couple of years. All I really want now is a Bandai level LD Voltron and Vehicle Voltron and I can feel like my collection is complete. I’m running out of space and disposable income.

Anyways...I tried ordering this magnificent set from toyercity and haven’t recieved an invoice. It’s been five days. I emailed and got a response from a guy asking if I want one. I said yes still no invoice. Where did everyone get theirs because this is for a bday and I’m tired of Toyercity slacking on this. I feel like Jonah Hill trying to buy the shoes in 40 year old virgin. I just want to buy it.... I ordered from toyz-king on ebay. Its actually LCM Toys. I've ordered from him before thorugh his website and on ebay with no problems. I like ebay though because of the insurance.

I cannot have both Infinity Gokin and United Gokin figures! I may only have one.
So, my question to those who own both figures is: should I sell my Mad Toys Infinity Gokin and get the Icarus United Gokin or should I keep the Mad Toys one and skip Icarus?
I know all the differences between them, but, I need to hear the answer from those who have both figures in hand, please. Thank you.

Here's a reply from Icarus regarding Vehicle Force:

The license is also owned by dreamwoks classic Medea LLC. which where ICURES toys acquired from. Dreamworks owns Classic Media which handles the license. But the actual IP is owned by WEP. This is also a matter of believing a reviewer... and an actual representative of WEP confirming that it's unlicensed. Classic Media is actually WEP’s overall corporate entity. WEP is a subdivision of Classic Media, on paper. But since they are a family owned private business it is mainly moot. They are commonly known as WEP which is the more public facing arm. But they are all the same thing. Dreamworks is a sub licensor. They can issue their own licenses but the primary IP holder both has veto power, and will acknowledge Dreamworks issued licenses as legit. For exam0le if you call WEP and ask if the Playmates Voltron is Licensed they will say yes it is, even though it is looped through Dreamworks. Further it is known, at least in the toy licensing world, that Playmates ponied up for an exclusive license from Dreamworks. We know Icarus is once again lying because everything they have said to this point with regards to licensing has been a lie. For example the Trademarks on that box are not the ones it would carry if it was through Dreamworks. What is on that box is a cut and paste of the WEP trademark from GX-71. He says he has a license from Classic Media, Which we know with 100% certainty is a lie. Classic Media is WEP. Their head of Licensing Tiffany Ilardi confirmed that the KOB was not and likely never would be Licensed directly to myself and a few others. She is the authoritative party. No Voltron/GoLion License will be issued worldwide that does not cross her desk for approval. Look if you view that video, try and view it through a skeptics eye and ear. Note they admit that the Madtoys V1 was unlicensed. Understand that WEP/Classic Media is a US IP holder. Licenses are not issued orally. They are big scary legal contracts with very specific requirements. And no way would WEp or any Western IP holder license a new run of KoB’s from any owner unless or until they had been made whole from the entire V1. Icarus would have had to cut the check for full MSRP for every V1 made before they would even enter negotiations. Is V2 2-3x the price of V1? No. So clearly that never happened.

WEP unless Icarus can produce a signed document backed up by a judges ruling. Icatus’s Product is displaying WEP’s Trademark. It isn’t simply a copyright dispute. WEP is the absolute authoritative voice on who and how that mark may be used. If they say it is not legit the burden is on Icarus to prove otherwise, and it would require them to sue WEP. This is the core of how Trademarks work. Of what they are. The Trademark holder is the absolute owner of the property and there can be no dispute. If Icarus possessed a legal license WEP would not only say so, they would have a legal obligation as part of the contract to say so. Icarus clearly does not have any actual contracts.

So yeah, people just don't like the fact that Icarus is lying to their faces about having a licensed product with false trademarks printed on their boxes to woo vendors to sell their product. I don't know why people in this thread are trying to dance around that all because the toy is nice. Transformers 3P companies aren't dumb enough to do that, and overall it's a move that undoubtedly makes people wary of Icarus for making such claims and what they would do in the future.
The toy is nice, but it doesn't change the fact that Icarus is lying to vendors and its customers. Honestly, I don't care how good the toy is, you have to accept that Icarus is lying lol. I get that people here don't like WEP, I don't either, but my god it takes a lot to go "maybe WEP is lying about their own licensees".

I’ve actually never understood why people have a hostility to WEP. WEP is in every way possible the polar opposite to a company like Harmony Gold. They are a smallish family owned business run by very nice people. They love the IP that they hold and are seemingly very supportive of their fans. If they have any flaw it is that they are seemingly very loyal to existing vendors and business partners, sometimes to the consumers short term detriment as they don’t always embrace change swiftly. Case in point Toynami. They would by and large seem to be exactly the sort of people and company that we claim to want in charge of a beloved IP.
