These specifically are toys, and being in the Bandai DX line they should have some diecast. There are also models being released.

Very interested to see how much diecast will be used and how Bandai will distinguish itself from Yamato with their new Valks. I hope competition (b/w Bandai and Yamato) turns out to be a good thing--like resulting in lower prices and higher quality.

The Valkyrie mode is looking nice. I've always liked the fighter modes better.
I hope the final production model can hold better than the prototype. ^_^
Bandai did very good work! Screw Yamato!

A little pricey though...

Not when compared to Yamato's all-plastic, questionably constructed offerings. I'm still hoping that the first release will include FAST packs since they've been shown on and off during the design progression, and Bandai does love to include accessories with their toys...

With Bandai's experience I'm sure the VF-25 will be a hit. Yamato's valk lines seems to have more QC issues.

Some QC issues, is an understatement. They are built like average plastic models. Only the Toynami valks are worse. Well, the 1/60 Valks are decent, but the bigger ones, are where they slip big time. At almost $200 shipped(with shipping, it should be around $200) each, this is very expensive. Considering the reissue valks are ~$90 shipped at 1/55 scale.

So far Yamato hit a homerun with the 1/60 SV-51 Ivanov/Nora, and the YF-21, and so far the new 1/60 VF-1's look promising, but still, their prices are a b*tch!
I hope Bandai does well with their VF-25's. I hope they give Yamato a run for their money in terms of future Macross toys!
Bandai... gimme NIGHTMARES!!!

I sure hope the 1/72 feet has some articulation so I don't need to part swap, I can understand the landing gears to be one of those compromises but the feet along with everything they've engineered to transform has me wondering why would they gave us part swapping feet?

Why do you think the feet would be swapped? They show them disconnected in that photo above to show how they articulate, that's all.

I think the picture where the leg is separated doesn't mean swapping or parts removal. it just there to show the articulation, and maybe the details on the leg design on the 25. Besides, that little nub just above the intake looks like the part that attaches to the end of the fuselage (crotch section in robot mode).

Nice pics! Although it's only 1/72 scale, it looks very crisp and clean, and I'm fairly impressed with the Battroid and Fighter modes. The GERWALK looks awkward though. Looks like whoever posed this didn't bend the intake joint far enough forward to make this mode look better. Since the 25 transforms very similarly to the 19, the GERWALK should have looked more like this: www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/YF-19_Review/gerwalk_10.jpgI'm impressed, but still on the fence about it. Thanks for the link Mechaboy1.
