This is the first figure I've seen that so many people want but don't want to get right away due to an "inevitable price drop." OK, since the figure is not that popular in Japan I suggest nobody buy it in the United States until it drops to $300.00

Let's just do this with all toys in the future . Then nobody is allowed to be surprised when nobody makes less conventional toy designs anymore.

Not with all figures, just with the overpriced ones. But on another note it would be kinda cool if we started arranging group buys on some of these things. Grouped together we do have buying power. Kind of like bidding for a contract, a store could bid for the lowest sell price on a certain quantity of figures, but shipped to separate addresses.

Let's not forget that these figures are catered to the Japanese people, and the companies who make them could care less about what we westeners want or think about their prices or release runs. They will continue to make what they believe japanese buyers want, nothing more... Gotta give it to the japanese folks, their sense of pride is awesome!!!

Anybody noticed the amazon link from the review? Amazon jp is selling it cheaper than ami ami for about 8,000yen, just use a decent middleman service and you're all set, might be able to avoid additional customs charges too, with the middleman the one doing the shipping. It's just like getting a recent soc release in terms of price.

thanks for the info ... 8000 is really a good price just to clarify it's not 8000yen but what i meant was it's cheaper from ami ami's price by 8000yen,so amazon japan's price is still about 22,700yen.

Nice. And it seems Amazon Japan also offers free domestic shipping. So shipping from Amazon to the middleman would cost nothing. You'd only have to pay for the middleman fees and shipping from Japan to you (and maybe the customs).
For the lazy ones who haven't checked already, 22,718yen equals US$298,20 at the current exchange rate.

I decided to test your theory out and asked my middleman to pick one up for me. I'll let you know how that goes.... but still even with the overseas shipping and comission, it should still be far cheaper than ebay and possibly ami ami when all is said and done.

Anybody getting the vinyl bad guys? I'm getting Fau. Not sure on Duo... have the old figure from Bandai's Anime line, and it's pretty good (much better than the Big O from the same line, IMO). Not as nice as the MF vinyl, but it was way cheaper and has pretty okay articulation. I guess if the magical money fairy visits and I can fit MF's Big O into my budget, then I'd pick up Duo for sure.

Just got the message from Tokyobuyers... getting this through Amazon only cost $305 thanks to the free domestic shipping.
I really hope they do Beck's robots when they get to the Big O SRC's....

Great review! Love the LED eyes and articulated hands!!! I thank God that I am not a fan of the Big-O design, because I would be close to $500 USD poorer right now... ;D
