Am I the only here who doesn't really mind the design? I have been a fan of Grendizer since I was 4 years old. I saw plenty of horrible fan-art for redesigned Grendizers/Shin Grendizers etc. This actually looks good and I don't mind finally seeing a different interpretation of my favorite Super Robot in the EX Gohkin line. I am loving it so much that I might get TWO of them! I'm like you too when it comes to raising up with my fav Grendy (I was born and raised in Kuwait too), but I have a different feeling about someone redesigning Grendizer. I just love the original, and in my mind there is only one Grendizer and I actually like the fact that we have one Grendy with one story (unlike all the Mazingers and getters). I know at one point that will change and they will come up with new design and retell his story, but until then I'm holding on the one and only GRENDIZER ....and I'll probably end up buying this one just cause it's suppose to be Grendy Then you shouldn't read Go Nagai's Grendizer Giga manga. It completely changes the story and I guess they might eventually animate it. I do prefer the original design as well...but I am a Grendizer collector, heck if it's okay for me to collect the crappy HL Pro Grendizers, I don't see why I shouldn't get the high quality EX Gohkin! even with how different it looks ....... Daizaaaaaa Gooo!

The only used SOC in my collection is the GX-02 Great Mazinger. I had ordered it from Japan through Amazon.com with the description saying that it's new. After it arrived it was clearly not the case. I had hoped even a 15 year old release would still be sealed. The foot joints are a bit loose and there is slight dust on the body but what pissed me off the most was that the manual was caught on the side of the box with the foam making it bent almost in the middle. I really prefer buying toys NEW in general, but if I have no choice like with really old releases and I feel that I need it for my collection then I will man up and get a used one.

I can't wait for this. I had it on PO as soon as it was available. The only GGGs I have ever owned were the old Kaiyodo ones. I have two + The Genesic GGG. I am glad they finally released something as awesome as this. SOC line has been feeling dead lately.

That brings back fond high school memories, late '70s/early '80s... ...there was a hobby store in the Bronx (on Grand Concourse, near Fordham Road) then known as Hobby Tree. After school I used to walk by there and gaze into the storefront window to view all those little diecast Shogun Warriors that were on display; some of them were the robots; and then the vehicles such as the Goranger Varidorin Jet; the Gaiking three animals; and the race car Machine Hayabusa. And I also remember seeing a Godaikin Gardian as part of the display. Coincidentally, throughout my childhood, wherever I went and spotted a toy store or hobby store displaying those little gokins I always saw the Godaikin Gardian displayed along with them. And then later on in the summer of '81 during my first time visit to Puerto Rico, I passed by a toy store... yep, the Godaikin Gardian was on display in the window... as in "punch car"! Welcome to RJ, and thanks for sharing! zozo-mag Thank you. There are always going to be awesome stories here for our generation and those toys. For me I did not grow up seeing these in stores. The only robots that were in Toy stores when I was growing up were Transformers and Go Bots. I wanted to have a Grendizer so badly and I didn't own my first one until the year 2000 with the Soul of Chogokin GX-04. I am going to try and secure a few more vintage Grendizers and post here whenever I get one

Hey guys I am happy to announce that as of yesterday, I have officially joined the vintage super robots club. I got the Collector's Die-Cast Shogun Warriors Grendizer by Mattel. Made in Japan 1978. Making it officially my oldest super robot figure. As a kid in the 80s, my cousin had the Jumbo Popy Grendizer AND the Grendizer + Spazer popynica set. But they were not available in any stores because he had them before I was born. Now finally I am slowly getting into the vintage super robots and will probably only focus on Grendizer since he is my favorite.

A very impressive collection of vintage robots. Some of these were sold here under the Popy brand before I was born. So for the most part I grew up with American toys and figures until I bought my first Transformer which I later found out was Made in Japan. Good luck with the sale.

Well, I give him an "A" for effort... and leave it at that. By the way, there actually is a Bandai Mecha-Collection model of the actual Mazinkaiser OVA Mazinger Z. He should've used that one instead. }D I am pretty sure that wasn't released at the time he did his project. The ones that were available were the regular MC Mazinger-Z and Great Mazinger. But yeah that would have helped making it more accurate.

I would like to share a project that a good friend of mine here in Kuwait, completed over 11 years ago. He used the old MC Mazinger-Z model kit from Bandai and custom made it to look like Ashura Mazinger. He used epoxy putty and scratch built some items for the project. He did a pretty good job and I hope this inspires you to keep working on your conversion kit.

I don't really like the original Voltes SOC release. The arms can barely be made to make him hold the sword double handed and the waist/leg joints are flimsy and it makes him wobbly and difficult to pose properly. I have heard that the second GX-31V release fixed those issues but I am still not optimistic. Design wise it looks pretty awesome and Voltes happens to be one of my favorite Super Robots.

I'm getting this one because I didn't get the original Shin Getter release. I think if I had done that then this would not interest me very much. Also waiting for Grendizer, this is probably going to be the last Getter related figure I get from Fewture.

Wow....then I will be ending up with 5 Grendizers that can dock with their Spazers.....I didn't even get the Metaltech Spazer even though I have Grendizer and that would make it 6!
I never knew I would have so many Grendizers figures when I was a kid. All I witnessed were the old diecast figure that came with the spazer and the jumbo machinder and they were both owned by my cousin. We live in good times for Grendizer fans!

My favorite part is where Duke wants to play Frisbee with Kouji. Great review and that was the kind of fix for the Double Harken I was thinking about. Also made me want to take more pics of my Grendizer.

If I could afford Liger and Poseidon I would probably grab them as well. But unfortunately there are some other figures and collectibles that are also rare and higher on my to-get list. Liger does look awesome though.

Wow...that neck/head problem is new. I really can't believe what a disaster this has become. If it was another less popular robot then I guess it wouldn't have made such an impact. But this is Grendizer we are talking about. Probably the most popular Super Robot in the world along with Mazinger-Z.
I have issues with the two I got (horn, double harken, loose arm) so I do know what the others are going through. Such a shame.
