Ahh, more people will vote, just give it some time Meanwhile, I came up with an interesting idea: I guess the majority of the people commenting here are either Getter fans, or at least do like/do have some interest in the robots in question. So we should talk about Getter Robo figures and toys as well, this is a collectors' forum after all You can talk about your favorite(s) Getter figures, the reason why you like them so much, you can talk about prototypes shown and never released, about Getters which still don't have a toy rendition, an upcoming one which you're hyped about, or just some cool facts about any Getter figure out there, why not!

I can't even remember what I voted for!
Oh wait, I didn't vote at all. That would explain it.

That’s a great idea MF I was thinking the same thing For me I own 3 Getters well 2 since I don’t know where I put my fewture black getter I have the fewture Getter 1 repaint the anime accurate color & the super robot chogokin Shin Getter 1 im planning to get more Getters in the future In my opinion the most appealing Getters in anime are shin getter 1 and the black getter In figures world the fewture black getter along with fewture getter liger both have an amazing design along with decent articulation I know the black getter is very annoying to even touch everything fall but it’s still a great Piece to own, I don’t mean the rest are awful or anything but for me I like those two the most stunning

I still own only the GX-18 Getter Dragon. It just seems that every time I think I'm finally gonna have some some space on my budget to clear my backlog and get the rest of the Getter units, Mazinger villains etc., Bandai or someone else announces some new cool thing I absolutely must have and boom, there goes that allowance.

I have a sort of... obsession, or fixation, when it comes to a company producing a Getter figure: I WANT THE WHOLE TRIOIt's frustrating, really, when someone decides to make some easy money by just releasing Getter 1, and don't even consider the "fast" and the "strong" Getters Oh well. As for my favorite figure... I don't have any Getter figures yet. But I'm planning to get the Bandai GX-06M to begin with: Which probably is one of, if not the only modern representation of the "test" Getter Robo. I really dig the chromed everything it's still possible to find it, even unopened ones, without much trouble. The cost is a bit of a problem, but considering it is 3 figures in 1 box, it's ok. The real problem, however, is that there's more stuff coming out in the next few months (SoC GaoGaiGar and 40th anniversary Mazinger Z for example), and we'll have to see if I'll have enough for a Getter, or not

Aoshima also made the "Test Type" Getter 1. Unfortunately, they never made the rest.

I guess we're talking about this guy: Well, this one is practically a repaint of their OVA Getter 1, not really that faithful to the show, in terms of proportions and head sculpt. It's kind of a niche robot character anyway but, hey, I like it! It only lasted one episode but I still like it. After all, it's the first Getter Robo you see in the cartoon

I am actually pretty damn excited. As of, right now. Because a manga publisher here in Italy has decided to reprint the old Getter Robo mangas, starting from the first issue of Getter Robo which will come out in November Finally I'll be able to take a direct look at Ken Ishikawa's work so maybe we'll also have a chance to talk about the major differences, between manga and anime. Not too shabby.

Cool I've always wanted to learn more about Getter robos One thing I already know about the manga versions, is that the eyes look different. Or at least, they do so in the cover art. Let me show you an example: See? These were covers for the older Italian printing of the Getter Saga, which was comprised of the first 4 Getter mangas. And these 2 here are Getter 1 and Shin Getter 1. Oh man those eyes they're so wacky, they look like Groizer's

Eh, I guess it was something Ishikawa liked. Then Go Nagai showed up and said "Ugh why why did you give it those eyes they look like bug eyes ugh no no no there now it has hexagonal eyes that reminds me of bees and also of honey and honey is sweet yum". And that's how the Getter we all know and love was born Man I'm way too excited for this... I need some sleep

Hi everyone, here's a bit of an insight: I was reading the manga of Devilman today, and after turning one page, something struck me. Does this guy remind you of anything? (hint: a scene from Armageddon) Because it certainly reminds me of that giant snail-like invader that absorbed all of those people in the arctic base, and exposed their faces so that Shin Getter couldn't attack, because it would've meant killing those people. Thankfully, Ryoma was snoopin' around there and came to the "rescue", *cough* rescuing *cough* all of those people, and killing the invader And just like in Armageddon, Devilman has to find the strength to attack the demon's shell, to attack the face of people he knew and loved, in order to kill the enemy: My opinion? Devilman was super popular back in the day, and it still has a nice amount of followers today. And someone important who worked on Getter Robo: Armageddon got inspired by this scene in Devilman, and decided to make his own version in the OVAs. They are both very similar, really. What do you think?

There is also a Test Neo getter by Aoshima too in white, several banpresto modern vinyls of the original Getter test team, and also Marmit mini metal ones.. Also I come to this Getter world THROUGH the toys first, with exception of the 70s Getter series' and Armageddon,I have not read any mangas but its easy to know Getter Go and Neo Getter are TOTALLY different robots just from collecting the toys,Revoltech makes both, and Getter go doesnt come with the big fans which is odd to me. Anyhow I believe ALOT of Black Getter fans like him best purely on aesthetics, and the toy over his background as a Getter,I mean he looks like a Black Ninja for Godsake! I like the original Getter team and Getter G best,I actually voted for Getter G as my fave,as I like that anime best, just a better look than the first series to me,and therfor more fun to watch. MOST of MY GETTERS:

MOST of MY GETTERS: See Baron? Your Getter collection pretty much sums up the problem in the toy industry today, when it comes to making Getter figures: they just make Getter 1, or Dragon, and that's it, they think they're done with that. "Why would you want the other ones? They're not as popular as the one we made" or something like that. It's always Getter 1, or black Getter, or Shin Getter 1... rarely you see the others being made. Is it that hard to understand that Getter Robo is 3 robots in 1? And that, if you make one, you HAVE TO make the other 2 as well? Geez...
