Looks exactly like my 1/40 Takatoku, just with harder lines and more of an anime/satin paint finish. No diecast on this version though, right?

No sir...I own the Takatoku 1/40 Orgroid (and Nikick!)...I'm referring to Megahouse's release. But, per the post right below yours, I guess it has some zinc/metal after all!

so very tempted to get one so i can compare w/ my 1/40 orgroid. I wish someone can point out all the areas that have diecast and maybe I'll bite... it does look really sharp.

It's still a lot of coin to drop though. Even steeper pricing than Evolution Toy stuff. I'd be hard pressed to spend that much. If it is a good figure but doesn't sell well because of the price, it will get heavily discounted.
I hope it is a good quality figure, but do t get caught up in the scenario where you buy something overpriced just because it's the only toy for a show that's available at the moment. All it takes is for something better to come along...

It is far too expensive for me, I am hoping Robot Spirits or DX chogokin version come along one day.

An orguss entry in DX Chogoking line should be the best hommage to Macross fans...

From what I hear it's actually a pretty good figure, it's just the price that's outrageous.

Finally opened my Megahouse Orguss. Very tight sturdy joints out of the box. Though some of the key joints are friction joints, so not sure how well they hold up after multiple transformation. There are a few small paint blemishes, but nothing major. Feels impressive in hand, and definitely better than my previous Megahouse purchases. Its a very nice Orguss figure with decent heft (diecast in the joints, some leg panels, feet..etc), but only for those that don't mind paying the price.

They're just so small and so expensive...even a huge discount might not make me get one.
