Hey are you gonna get those exos out of the package? I wanna see some close-ups! I was going to buy the emperor, but I heard that there's a lot of breakage issues with his leg. My acro phantom needed some serous and complicated glue surgery, and my beloved Scorl's knee broke, plus Groundmaster Alan,s ankle and I just can;'t deal with anymore of that so I held off.

My Scorl's knee broke too; I heard here on the forum that it was a universal (rather than common) fault in the black plastic. Glued it and made do. No problem with my Phantom though, and I don't have the others you mention.
I've avoided the Exos on accounta they're opaque. Shame because the head sculpts look nice, but tomy's first Microman effort is something I don't want to buy.

My acro phantom needed some serous and complicated glue surgery, and my beloved Scorl's knee broke, plus Groundmaster Alan,s ankle and I just can;'t deal with anymore of that so I held off. Sadly, the emperor was damaged. The upper leg/thigh joint was cracked and even the knee was damaged as well. Had to do some glue surgery as well. Thankfully, all the other figures were ok. Its really disheartening. I've been buying takara toys ever since I was a kid, so that's nearly 30 years and for all the improvements in technology, its now that we encounter horrendous quality control problems.

Indeed - obviously technology isn't the issue. THe real problem is the changes in international finance and trade which now encourage and "force" every manufacturer to subcontract to virtual slave labourers in china and vietnam. Ironically enough, manufacturers tend to like communist countries the best becuase the government has an iron fist and workers have alot harder of a time fighting for wages. But then in those countries where they do manage to scrape higher wages, the company moves elsewhere.
Worker misery probably isn't the main factor though, but rather the fact that work is usually subcontracted to the lowest bidderwhich ofen means scap quality. Subcontractors' work is also harder to supervise then when production was done at home.
Finally, in japan it's really easy to return your microman to the store for a new one. Here you can't really do that.

Here you can't really do that. True. Whichever way you look at it, this has been an issue which has long plagued the line so you would think that Takara would seek to rectify it. Besides, whether you're in Japan or anywhere else in the world, the sheer incovenience of having to return an item which is damaged due to WIDESPREAD substandard production is inexcusable. I guess given all the problems plaguing the various releases, I've been lucky...so far, save for my Emperor. How ironic is it that the head honcho is the one with what looks to be the most severe quality control problem to date.

Speaking of luck, I opened up my spare Acroyear Exo Emperor today and thankfully, it was totally damage free!
Am still bummed out that as a paying consumer, I even have to be thankful to find one without damage, when that should be the rule, and not the exception.

Thanks for posting! I like the look of Orga. Any breakage issues with the new figures? I got two sets of these and no breakage thus far. I've also been checking the various fora and boards and the only complaints, which I myself have encountered are loose joints. The one specific case is El. It seems that her torso is loose. Lots of similar reports of that. Otherwise, they're great figures! They're the same height as magenmicroman and Microhoodman.

woah where did you order the space travellers special edition? (I managed to get all 6 for work) + 2 more for home I got it from one of the local hobby shops (here in the Philippines) that specializes in japanese toys. I really love these guys! Very reminiscent of the old Takara Timanic figures.
