Nice collection Garvy!
You should post pix of your cyborgs as well... Say what is the name of the Jumbo Machinder figure in the last photo? Very Impressive : )

Wow, I'm jealous...a whole army of Micromen, with robots too! Ever stage massive battles? Oh, and GUYx1, that's actually a diaclone robot, in the last pic. Of course I forget the name...

Two pictures up... are those vintage microman? They look beautiful Its actually a mix of vintage, reissues Micromen and Palisades Micronauts. The first and second rows are the vintage and reissue figures. The vintage figures there are the green Romando Spy Magician (top row, far right), the Micronauts Galactic Warrior (2nd row, far left) and the Micronauts Time Traveller (2nd row, far right). Everyone else in the first two rows are Takara re-issues. The third row are Palisades Micronauts. I am still unearthing more stuff from storage. There are more figures there. Thanks for looking! Cheers, Garvy

Here's my latest haul. I managed to secure a vintage Takara Robotman Gakeen. Takara released the rare Robotman Gakeen in 1976. Robotman Gakeen was released as part of the Robotman Series. The Robotman Series was originally intended by Takara to be the bridge between the Microman and Henshin Cyborg Series to form a larger toys tie-in project called the Victory Series. However when the Henshin Cyborg line was terminated in 1974, there was no longer a reason for keeping the Victory Series and Robotman then became part of Microman line. Gakeen was a TV show character that was introduced as sort of a sequel to the popular Geeg. Gakeen, however, never did garner much popularity. Takara licensed the Gakeen character (since it also owned the license for the Geeg character) and was probably betting on the success of Gakeen, so they released several toys based on Gakeen including this unusual Robotman toy. Robotman Gakeen was one of the largest Gakeen toys and probably one of the rarest of all the Gakeen toys. Robotman Gakeen was also much sought after by Microman collectors since he was also considered a part of the Robotman series which added to the rarity of this particular toy. (text taken from Microforever.com) Robotman Gakeen was a fully motorized toy much like the previous Robotman. He stood about 12" tall which was almost as tall as Robotman (as pictured above). He came with a large assortment of accessories that not only transformed him into a motorized tri-cycle but also allowed him to fully interchange with others Microman toys including the original Robotman. Robotman Gakeen came with spring loaded fists and knee-firing missiles. (text taken again from Microforever.com) Unfortunately, one of the wheels on the legs is missing as well as the knee firing missiles, but the other accessories came with the Gakeen lot-- all in all, a very good deal!

I'm not even a Microman collector, but I love these pics! I remember when the Microboys came out, and always wondered what they would look like close up. The blue shuttle launcher station is the Transformers version, right? I know the black one is MM, but that Microchuttle is throwing me off...

That Gakeen is quite a find, Garvy. Do you mind me asking how much? I always fancied the little metal one myself.

Yes, the blue rocketbase is actually transformers micromasters countdown. The shuttle is the Micronasa from the Micro Hoodman line. If you look closer, a Micro Hoodman is driving the blue launcher. The Micronasa has magnetic strips on the belly. I rigged 2 metal strips on the rocket so the shuttle could attach to the booster. Thanks for looking! Cheers, Garvy

That Gakeen is quite a find, Garvy. Do you mind me asking how much? I always fancied the little metal one myself. I got it for the equivalent of about $30. It seems that the story of my Gakeen purchase isn't quite finished.....yet! I'll hopefully post an update to this and be more specific in the next few days. Yup, I've always wanted the metal one too, the one with the dashwing, but have never had the pleasure of even seeing one in the "flesh". Besides, to get that would take major $! Cheers, Garvy

Today, I had the unique opportunity of improving on the Takara Microman Robotman Gakeen I got a few weeks ago. When I purchased it, it was near perfect except for a missing wheel by the left knee. The wheel probably got lost when the peg that held the wheel in place broke. Luckily, a close friend of mine coincidentally had the same toy as a kid and the only thing left was the lower portion of the leg, including the wheel! Here's the result:

Here's what I got last week! During an unplanned trip to one of my usual haunts, I chanced upon a merchant friend of mine as he had just got in a loose, vintage (circa 1980) Takara Microman Godfighter Robotman. With the exception of one back mounted missile launcher, a shin mounted legpiece accessory and his staff, the piece was otherwise complete. Condition was pretty good for something 25 years old! Gakeen, Robotman1 and the Godfighter!Am now in the process of trying to print a sticker sheet using a high quality PDF file provided by members of Micronauts/Microman and Gen M yahoo groups (thanks guys!) to further restore this baby. Cheers, Garvy
