Dang must be terrible management or turnover there were people don’t give AF anymore. Sucks hope you get your money back NY has always been like this. People usually don't have a problem with NY until there's an issue with an order. NY does everything in their ability to screw over their customers even for problems they cause.

I'm reminded now of Angolz. What happened to that store?

Part of the reason they get stock later compared to others is they're not located in the main island. How behind they are in receiving stock may also depend on other factors such as do the shipments come directly from the factory or does it make a pit stop somewhere else in Japan. While that could possibly be a factor, I doubt that is the real reason behind their latest shenanigans. Either way, there was a post in another forum from another retailer in Japan stating a rumor that the former boss or employee absconded with a large amount of money from the company some time last year. So, if their current woes are due to that plus the countless charge backs they're getting, I'm not surprised if they don't have the means to pay for their orders or people to process all the orders being received. Ah! Finally some juicy tidbits. Just stay away from them going forward because it doesn't seem the situation will get any better with them. That's a definite YES!

I'm reminded now of Angolz. What happened to that store? I have the same question! What happened to that store? Used to be the biggest in HK, the same as toy-wave dot com, but seems like they dont exist anymore... I wonder what happened.

I used to buy from them. Remember they even branched out to a fashion (probably operated by the wife) sister site at one point. Guess business slowly died out due to competition. Though what I don't understand is that there seem to be more HK based online shops now than before, so the demand seems to be there. And Toy-wave is a pretty good shop with no issues. Not sure what specifically drove them out of business.

Last transaction I have from them was in 2015 for the Fewture Grendizer. Angolz just disappeared. They were quite reputable but I never did purchase through them for anything. Both are HK-based shops. Only one there now that I know of and have purchased from is Loopaza.

The e-shop I miss the MOST is Amenbo Japan. Man, I had a really good setup with Aki Yoshida and Shin Watanabe. They just disappeared too.

Even prior Sentai releases like GoGoFive toys. We had an official PoL going too and they'd just ship whenever it worked out for me. And yeah, then...poof.

from what i know and i could be wrong
the Angloz team came to a disagreement and they split, those who still want to be in the business went ahead and came with another online store called 10.toys (they sent me an email about that long ago)
but the site is down now, Angloz was a very good site i bought alot EX gokin from them, the only down side they had was they charge for everything on the preorder (figure price + shipping) other than that there were truly amazing the packaging and the content were so fresh you could still smell the paint

i really hate it when a good store become awful
i bought alot of stuff from NY last thing i bought from them was Knight Gundam that was before they started to get greedy with the shipping
the market is huge and the demand is high so there is a place for a market share, but some stores thinks they are untouchable and they will get away with some shady moves
they could turn things around if they played their cards right

Business practices change and thus, so do companies. The lousy part is all of us loses one more possible vendor source when we go hunting something. For me though, there has been a few new stores like Hobby-Genki that have come up that have replaced NY as an alternate source if my big 3 (i.e. HLJ, Hobby Search, and Ami2) comes up dry. Really, first world problems. Covfefe.

To update this thread as well.... Today, Paypal has closed my case against NY in my favor. Payment Date: Dec 10, 2020 Dispute Start Date: Jan 11, 2021 Refund Date: Jan 27, 2021 Nippon-Yasan never responded to ANY messages from Paypal. At this point, they are on my "NEVER BUY FROM" list. They were good to me from 2012 through 2018 (my last successful transaction with them). Sad

I bought from them until the pandemic started... never had any issues but I've been reading lots of bad stuff. My only regret is that I had a lot of discount points, I was saving them to buy an expensive old figure like the destiny gundam... I won't risk now.

Been shopping there since 2012 and things have been pretty smooth. The only order N-Y failed on me was the POSE+ Goshogun, and my DX Strike Pack still in limbo. While I still have a few preorders with them and using those to use up my store credits, the alarming number of complaints here did sway me from buying from them from now on. Kind of sad actually, since they used to be a pretty good store and got me tons of web exclusives through the years.
