It wad redirected to Nin-nin but ninnin claimed they have nothing to do with nipon. My guess is Nippon was trying to screw ninnin? Who knows. Both vendors seemed very similar TBH (for me). I only bought from NNG about 2-3 times tops...but, yeah, that was always my impression that they were affiliated. Dunno. My go-tos now are Anime-Export, Amazon Japan, HLJ, AmiAmi, CD Japan, and LunaPark when buying from a Japanese vendor. LunaPark is news to me. So after a quick googling, I found lunapark.store and premiumlunapark.com. Differences: premiumlunapark.com/pages/about-usSo besides the exclusives on their "premium" site, do they sell the same stuff?

Its the same store but the premium one is suppose to offer more of a collector item where they will give better packaging. It kinda all started when people were complaining that their packaging was just a white plastics DHL bag so their item box got pretty beat up. They have improved their packaging since.

Word on the street (or was it here) that LunaPark is comprised of ex-NY employees? I've bought from them routinely and no issues so far...

Luna Park has been around since before NY went down. I think some people had issues with them, though.

Luna Park has been around since before NY went down. I think some people had issues with them, though. Probably from the shipping debacle of them shipping one of the sort after item (forgot what it was, could be one of the DX Macross...VF-1D? Can't remember...) in just the factory brown box, with a bunch of customers receiving damaged goods. My initial impression on them was good when I first heard about them a couple years ago. Even watched a few of their youtube toy reviews, giving the vibe of some girls into toys starting their small hobby business and channel. But every time I have a hard time preordering something and went to their site to get one as a backup, their price always stopped me from ordering from them. They are very aggressive on markups, which I didn't like. After a while, I just didn't bother anymore.

in response to the NY scandal, shops like animexport and ninningame reacted fast and moved to the pay later option. Ninningame have certainly picked up a maximum of customers from NY now : they upgraded and sent a newsletter on april 12th 2022:
"Hi Lejam, It's Etienne, co-Founder of Nin-Nin Game. How've you been? I’m writing to you because you are part of our most VIP customers. You deserve full disclosure on what’s happened at Nin-Nin Game, and what it means for you from now on. It’s been a long time since we last communicated about our situation! Not gonna lie, 2021 was officially the most challenging year of our existence! - We moved to a new MUCH BIGGER warehouse. - It took some time to “digest” the move, and a looot of work, hats off to the Team. - We have a much larger Team at Shipping - We can ship much, much more now. - We are FINALLY on time with orders (same day or day after is now common) - Logistics/Shipping is an ever-changing head-ache because of:
Covid impact (air freight reduced) Lack of container space (sea freight taking muuuch more time) Ukraine war (big impact on prices because of oil price increase = big fuel surcharges + countries shutting down to some carriers on and off)
- We try to solve each and every particular order problem by offering upgrades/alternatives when possible = very time-intensive - We have a much larger Team at Customer Service (better response times) - We are still doing our best to catch up on Private Warehouse orders (easier now that standard orders are on time)
TL;DR: - We have a much bigger team now (shipping + customer service), everyone is trained, driven, and doing a STELLAR job. - We have a much bigger, and newer warehouse. - Things are looking good for 2022!
What does that mean for you? Simple, we’re back, at 300% capacity, and we’re on time again: We’re shipping same-day or next-day again! After a challenging last year, we are looking forward to serving you again at a high level of speed and service. Come and take a look at our latest pre-orders and arrivals! …Also we are preparing some huge cool upgrades in the shadows, shhhh. They will make your life easier :-)
PS: In our next email, we’ll dive deep into the what happened. A dark, epic story of navigating business in Japan in times of crisis. We hope to see you soon at Nin-Nin-Game.com, and will continue serving you faithfully!
Thanks again,
Etienne Nin-Nin-Game.com co-Founder
And I check today NY url by curiosity : it's dead ! Good riddance !
The Ando Experience YT made video about the whole situation and consequences.

Etienne Nin-Nin-Game.com co-FounderAnd I check today NY url by curiosity : it's dead ! Good riddance ! The Ando Experience YT made video about the whole situation and consequences. Yeah, I got that email too some time ago. I do shop there quite often ever since N-Y became shady, and Nin-Nin has become a good replacement of N-Y for me, as they actually work quite similar, carries the same type of Tamashii or other Web Exclusives, has stock of older exclusives if I want to backtrack something that is not on Mandarake or Yahoo JP Auctions. Heck, they even do PO markups in similar fashion if you missed their cheap initial batches. On smaller items, their shipping is actually reasonable these days, not as outrageous like a year or two ago. And also similar to N-Y, they have a discount code system you can accummulate if you shop there enough, sometimes can take a good $20-30 off an order. So yeah, if you want a N-Y replacement, Nin-Nin is a good candidate. I am not worried about the rumors of Nin-Nin connected to N-Y due to the weird internet link/redirection when you try to click on N-Y website, cause I started buying from Nin-Nin back in early 2019, when N-Y was still normal and functioning well & shipping my orders left and right. It is not like Nin-Nin just popped up after N-Y going down. They have been around for more than a decade, and their Facebook page started around 2011. Haven't had any issues with Nin-Nin, aside some orders took a little long before they get processed and shipped. But As they mentioned in the email, they moved and expanded with more staff and much faster turn around time on orders. So more likely they are no longer the slow poke we used to know. My more recent orders got processed & shipped pretty quickly.

I used Nin-Nin for GX-100, Daiku Maryu and did not have a problem with their service. I was given some shop points and they have been sending periodic reminders to use the points. I was able to place an order on the P-bandai Prototype Kampfer after all the usual places have sold out. (the points helped) From what I can observe I agree with mpchi that it seems like their pre-order window is longer but woe to anyone who wants to go and get back catalogue stuff.
Shipping cost is what it is. Everyone is affect the same way. There is definite a premium to be paid for good packaging (i.e. bigger boxes therefore more expensive shipping)

Looks like Nin-Nin is a good option.
Is Anime-Export still a reliable option?

Looks like Nin-Nin is a good option. Is Anime-Export still a reliable option? AE seem OK. No problem with the orders I bought from them the past year, but their shipping can be VERY expensive. My pile of loot was shipped in a box what would cost roughly US$100-120 FedEx/DHL, they charged me for over US$200... (GX-100 tier shipping price, but less than half the size normal thick box I get normally from many other shops). They got good discount, but the shipping makes me hesitant ordering from them now, unless I can't find the item anywhere else or something light and small.

Do other people have experience with AE and is the their shipping excessive? My current pile of loot is getting very big. I have in the last two years shifted most of my buying to AE. I was attracted by their pay now prices and their "lax" timeframe around their pile of loot. But if shipping is big (This may neglect the pay now savings.) I was talking with a local hobby merchant about most big retailers like AmiAmi, HLJ etc. It would make sense that the larger stores would have negotiated corporate discounts with (DHL/FedEx, etc) and only past a portion of their savings to their clients. It is possible that smaller store like AE may not have that leverage with DHL/FedEx and may to pass the full cost (plus some) to the end user.

I use AE quite frequently and have not had issues with them overall. Yes, their shipping can be high but then again, my PoLs are usually a number of items in one parcel. So, really, no overall concern as Boris and his team have been reliable.

I still use AE a fair bit. Shipping a little pricier in general, but good customer service and often my last resort to get something on PO…
